Family life, Job, other hobbies...looking for one class

Hi all,

Title says it all. I have a family, daughter, a job, other hobbies…and not much time for WoW. Well, enough time for one class.

I want to focus on one only. One who can solo everything in PvE. One which is ‘easy’ in PvP (solo and random battlegrounds). I know that ‘easy’ depends on a lots of things.

I spent a lots of time reading forum, looking stats, watching youtube for class ranking videos, etc. Some says white, other says black. And now I dont know what to choose at all.

I already have a 80 paladin / rogue. I have tons of 70s toons salso and Im not afraid to level one. I prefer by far distant class (for PvP at least). Melees are ok though.
What I’ve never played are warlocks (If I had to choose spe that would be destro).

Do you have any advices please ? (beside leaving my family and be single ).

Thank you

PS : oh, and sorry for my bad english sometimes.

Paladin, obviously.

What do you mean by this? World quests? Any class can do those. In terms of soloing content made for more players, probably Hunter or tank spec.

I don’t think any class is mutually exclusive with having a real life, it’s not like you have to do be jobless to play a Warlock etc. But if you want just one class that can do everything, I would go with a class that has more than just a DPS spec, so you can get easier/faster groups in PvE as a healer.

Out of the two you mention I would go with Paladin, Ret is currently crazy OP too, but that makes it an obvious nerf target for Blizzard.

I’d say Paladin is that one class. Can do any role and got most of utilities and cc’s the game can provide. Change it only if you want to play a ranged caster. Otherwise, you are already at the right place.

Thank you all. So paladin would be a good choice, why not, I like mine. How hard and effective is holy ? I’ve never tried that spe.

In case I would go for a ranged class, what would be a good one ?

I am biased, playing holy for more than 15 years… no matter what changes they make on it, I stick with it because I am very attached to the char and paladin’s lore, also because I am so much used to the class that other healing specs, even if stronger, feel too different. Anyway. While ret is mostly a “burst than wait for CD’s” playstyle, holy is much more diverse in terms of utilities, in other words you have a lot of stuff to use and have to estimate when to use what. As a friend tank said, "you heals are situational, not constant. (in contrast to holy priest for example). Holy is single target healer, which can expand the number of targets through the Beacon of Light. It has to pay a lot of attention what is going on. It demands higher concentration. But it has extremely powerful emergency heals which some other classes don’t have, and huge protection of self and others (shields, etc). I’d say it’s not a low skill ceiling healing class, rather a mid, but when used to it and mastered, it’s a … well…healing-gasm

In pvp it needs to pay a lot of attention to positioning (as all others need it of course). It is often a FC escort in flag bgs. It has a nice cc kit against the enemies. It’s not killed easily. It has a nice speed boost via Divine steed. It has Freedom.
I’d say, extremely fun spec, but needs time to master.

Ok thank you for your ‘non biased’ opinion  Im gonna choose the ret in any case, and also holy as a ‘second’ class and give it a try.

Thx all
