How many alts do people usually park at a mob?
or do you just fly and port them around to farm mounts?
I’m quite curious.
Usually I’ll park the characters I don’t really want to play ever again at the boss spawn and log in each day/week to give it another go. I could just delete them, but I feel like this is a more useful approach, especially in Darkshore where you don’t always have access to the portal.
Currently I have 2 or 3 in Darkshore, and another 2 sitting outside dungeons where I run them 20 times a day (2 lots of reset instances). After that I just give up and drink a full bottle of rum before passing out in the bath.

I kill Sha of Anger on… about a dozen?.. characters each week. If I don’t play them for whatever reason they just remain logged near the spawn point and I make sure to get a kill in before the next reset. Other than that, not really “farming” any mounts.
I just do everything on the one character while I’m going for transmogs as well. I ain’t some fanatic that chains alts after mounts. 
And I don’t ever bother going after mounts that are in the 0.xx% category. I ain’t some masochist. But then again I do rep for Paragon stuff… 
If I don’t get a mount from the current expansion when the next is out I just forget about mounts in past expansion and focus on the new current. Because, generally speaking, the outdoor mount drops will get a lot harder to get when people can quickly solo nuke them to a long respawn timer… screw that.

I used to fly around with all my 24 chars, killin the weekly WBs, doing old raids etc. But after soooo many kills (over 2000 across all chars on Pandaria WBs) and no mount drop at all…I kinda gave up. Maybe some day I try again…

It’s a rather obscene idea tbh, you could be spending a life time going after that mount and it never drops… and someone gets it on their very first time. That’s just soul crushingly bad.
Blizzard should be rewarding people that are committed as well, instead of their sole reliance on RNG… give a bad luck protection, or combined fragments to mount or something!

I farm with 22 chars, most of them I don’t park as I use them for other stuff as well.
Don’t really park, I just run the same loop with 2-3 characters; Legion pet dailies, mount farming in Pandaria.
