This just makes even harder to new comers like me. I wont grind for the cloak to 15 but people who has 15 already will get broken and broken every week. Maybe something to upgrade cloak level instead of this?
There seems to be a bug preventing people from upgrading to the current cap of 92 resistance.
Once i hit 89 resistance the item disappeared from mothers shop.

Came here to say the same. Cloak at 89 and no core available from mother (bought one to get 86 -> 89)
It’s good that it’s there, however the currency is starting to become very saturated.
Right now there are 3 important character upgrades that are purchased with this currency:
-essences (on your alt’s)
-corruption
-cloak upgrades
We are talking primarily alts, as your main should have most things done (including corruptions, they’ve been up for long and ppl have them farmed at this point)
I wish i could sell echoes to my alts like i can with war resources. My main doesn’t really have much use for echoes anymore, where alt (even just 1 alt) will be starved for them for weeks.
Just for the record as far as I understand you can buy up to 89 if you haven’t done a full vision or killed N’Zoth. You then get your last 3 resistance by doing one of these activities. If on the other hand you earned a core already during this week you can buy up to max.
Which is logical since the goal is to catch up, not replace the normal way to increase your resistance.
It means that those who do not want to “earn” a core with N’Zoth or a vision will have to be content robe 3 res behind.
Ye that’s not a problem. The problem was that it was impossible to catch-up to your main otherwise (catch-up taking 3 months if you hit r15 today)
2000 echoes is no joke to farm. Doing a vision or nzoth normal is way, way less time consuming.
Pages and books for sale for echoes I guess so you don’t have to touch Visions with your alts?

I haven’t logged as I just got home. But earlier today I did my weekly vision clear and then I bought the rest of the missing cores minus one. Stuck at 89.
[edit] It’s probably hotfixed. Just checked and got my last core from mother.
That wouldnt be a bad idea tbh. 
Why don’t you just allow vision runs for this also on a repetitive basis, make the first each week a minimum 0 mask full run and then increase it by 1 mask each run until reset again. That way people can get 6 cores from visions alone per week to catch up with.
For the love of god Blizz, just for once give the players something without making them still have to jump through hoops to get.
I have levelled 7 cloaks the hard way, endured the infantile mechanics devised by 5 year old’s in order to suck another bit of fun from the game. There is a new expansion just around the corner which will make all our current gear worthless anyway so why not just give the damn cloaks away? Let people have some fun for a change and stop trying to make the game more annoying than it already is. At the very least make the currency required account bound rather than soulbound.
Credit where credit is due - I was expecting that this particular change will happen in a few months when the expansion is about to end. At this point Im only hoping that its a learning curve for Shadowlands and later that we dont see such situations of obvious solutions are not there from the start of the patches.
You need more resistance for being able to safely use more corruptions so I think resistance is the priority
Would be nice to remove the weekly cap so we can just farm up our capes as much as we want to, give us something more to do.
