I was playing Night Fae and want to switch to Kyrian just to test it out. I’m looking for a way to get from renown 60 (where I’m at after doing Kyrian story, weekly stuff, callings, etc…) to 80.
Are M+ dungeons the only repeatable content that allows me to farm renown endlessly?
I thought Torghast layer 9 also rewarded renown endlessly, but it only gave me the token on the first run.
Pretty sure I’ve seen a wowhead article on this exact subject, tho can’t find it at the moment
The current PvP brawl is a solid low-effort grind. You aren’t guaranteed a Renown level each win, but it’s a fairly reliable bet regardless. Personally, I haven’t gone over 4 consecutive wins without gaining another level.

This week, comp stomp!
Does max out at 78 though, and you’ll probably get about 1 renown per 2-3 games. So every 20 minutes if you spec resto 
Comp stomp brawl is probably the best reliable way.
Before the patch I did Torg level 1 with my druid which worked up to about renown 23, then last night did 12’s and it should get you reliably to 70+ with very few runs not rewarding renown. I’ve not gone into detail on what layer stops when, I just went right in with 12’s.
No, it does not. You can get to 80 with it.
With that said, I tried the usual suspects:
- Comp Stomp: Low effort, fast, decent drop rate. My longest one was 8 minutes long.
- Torghast L12: Not much effort, decent drop rate. But it takes longer and takes more effort than comp stomp.
- M+2 keys: If you have friends to do it with, and keys to burn, this may be better than comp stomp. In pugs? Very hit and miss. I almost managed to deplete a +2 (don’t ask).

I mean… it stopped at 78 for me, didn’t get another in 6-7 games after that, and everyone else told me it capped at 78 so… 
Maybe it’s not a hard cap, but anecdotally, it got so much slower that it become pointless.
It does slow down conisderably at some point, but so does every other sources too. There were times when I didn’t get any renown for 10+ games, then 5 in a row, at various renown levels, ranging from 40+ to 70+. Similarly, out of the 7 keys I did this week so far, only 2 rewarded renown.
(I’m currently 80/79/79/73, all sub-80s were done in comp stomp.)
