why does everyone want to turn a successful game into a dead game?
Flight masters. just use waypoints like any modern game. let us insta-travel everywhere we want, for a small fee. flight masters stopped being relevant 12 years ago.
Miss the old days…
GENERAL: WTB mage portal to Dalaran 5g
If you play void elf, there’s already a discount
D.R.I.V.E.
With the new patch out, this feature goes to the top of my list of stuff that WoW should NOT have.
I second this.
Its not adding anything meaningful or immersive to the game.
Heroic dungeons yes they are redundant.
I still use flight masters when I’m bored to fly. I just put where I wanna go and go put food in the oven or do something else lol
What’s wrong with Drive?
Everything.
Personally I welcome traversal involving some measure of gameplay. Same reason I welcomed Dragonriding last expansion.
Yeah, some people do. I don’t. Dragonriding is already annoying, but relaxing enough once you’re on your way. But with DRIVE it’s too much: It’s a minigame to travel around.
I don’t want gameplay when going from point A to point B. I just want to go there without hassle.
That is further exasperated by the fact that I really hate all manner of racing type games.
You are not playing the game in a manner that progress or anything else that is bound to a specific area for a season or similar, does not matter. So idk why you even bother? Stay in Goldshire or Stormwind instead, idk.
However, it is clear that they are trying to introduce some form of RPG feeling that is aligned with the area that you are in. Without being able to fly fast to areas; hence removing flying - and adding drive. Because people want to get things done fast.
Therefore removing flying for this area and adding another form of transportation is what they came up with. But you dont see it like that, because you are only looking from your own lens of looking. If you dont like it - dont use it. Ezpz.
Just pondering on a notion that might seem sacrosanct in WoW right back to its earliest days.
The primacy of the 1 Tank, 1 Healer, 3 DPS make up of dungeoneering.
It could still have its place in high-end keys and MDI et al.
But is there scope to diverge from this model in other areas of the game? Leveling dungeons perhaps could be 5 DPS, perhaps with an NPC tank for the basses to show new players that the role exists and they might be curious enough to research it.
Maybe there is scope for flex size in some dungeons. 2 - 5 DPS (more dps would ease the wait for tanks and healers somewhat).
Just because it has always been 1/1/3 doesn’t mean it always has to be.
No idea how you managed to think that about a system that can and does affect peoples well being please learn to think outside of the box and not make everything about you.
You are saying this but your statement is wrong, your way of thinking is wrong and your way of percieving the message is also wrong. You are the one thinking inside a box. That is the difference.
Flying in this area is disabled for a reason, because they added D.R.I.V.E, no?
Then look at the reason why they added D.R.I.V.E - players doing content, wants to do it fast without wasting time - this is the reason why you got dragonriding so fast in DF - if you compare it to earlier expansions where you could not fly. This was an outcry from the community that you needed to get pathfinder before you could fly.
Now, as this flying system was added, more and more of the RPG feeling in retail has been more or less removed. You do a quest, fly to it - mount up, fly to next and so on.
With this new area. So they have deliberately taken a step back, kind of; to create a different experience. And now, when a system is introduced that asks the player to move differently, to engage differently, there is uproar. Why? Because the game has conditioned its players into a single mode of operation.
The question, then, is not whether D.R.I.V.E is good or bad. The question is: Why does its very existence trigger such resistance? Because it is different? Because it slows things down… because you cant fly? Because of how it is not aligned with the rest of the wow world? So far, there has been no constructive criticism to why the thought of D.R.I.V.E is bad - just whining.
It makes people ill using the system so you are wrong and please spare me the chatgp and use your own thoughts.
Plus i said nothing about flying stop making assumptions thanks.
You may say this - but there is no evidence for your claims, and therefore those inputs that I make are my own thoughts from my own experience using this feature. Also, you were earlier talking about “thinking outside the box” and “making everything about myself”.
But you just did - because the flying that I mention has nothing to do with you. But with the system itself and how those who have worked on this D.R.I.V.E system removed flying for Undermine to implement something that still makes you able to move fast within the area - and at the same time goes together with the theme of that specific area.
It is clear to me that you cannot think correctly due to immidiate reaction to things without analyzing it. It is people like you who makes this world a dangerous place.
The same happened for dragonflying and yes there reports of people feeling ill doing the drive.
Please stop saying this it is really annoying now and basically trolling people who have valid concerns.
Really ? come on please use your own thoughts and not a chat programme and please stop being so abusive.
Honestly, ever since MoP Remix, I’ve thought about what it would look like to change dungeons into 10 man raids - 2 tanks, 2 healers, 6 DPS.
It could potentially help with getting new tanks and healers into the queue because one of the core concerns for those roles is performance anxiety. In 5-mans, you are the only one of your role, you shoulder all the responsibility, that discourages many people. If you’re a DPS, there are two others of your role who can pick up your slack so people don’t feel the same kind of pressure.
So maybe if there was another tank and another healer who could help, it could motivate some people to give it a shot. However, it would destroy the MDI so it’s not gonna happen.
Not necessarily.
Flex normal didn’t end RWF in Mythic 20. Not all formats need to be the same accross difficulties.
Normal or Heroic dungeons, Timewalking, Mythic 0, Lower Keys (up to 7 maybe) all could have slightly different group make-up but keep higher keys and MDI with the traditional setup.
