Feedback - Devastation Evoker likely needs help in PvP

I know the topic has been mentioned many times on these forums, but the spec appears to be lacklustre in a few areas. I just want to reinforce this idea while Blizz is looking at tuning and provide some feedback as it’s pretty much all I’ve been playing since the expac dropped. It no doubt echoes many others’ thoughts.

Main issues I think need addressing are:

  1. Fire Breath’s DoT effect can be dispelled with no penalty for the opposition. Good healers will instantly dispel the DoT. This means that the sustained damage increase we would otherwise get from the Catalyst, Burnout, Engulfing Blaze, and Scarlet Adaptation talents are immediately rendered useless. 1 dispel, on an 8 second CD, should not negate a large chunk of our sustained damage. Due to the duality of Living Flame, it actually can negate our healing too, as we lose instant cast self-heals. This is actually concerning enough from a damage standpoint that I imagine the class will really struggle against healers who know this. and save dispel for Fire Breath.

  2. There needs to be some survivability support. Currently the class feels like there is no way to mitigate damage effectively. Flat out, the defensives are not strong enough and there is no way to effectively support heal through sustained damage in order to make up for the lack of defensives. Self-Healing needs to be buffed in some way, or defensives need to buffed. The short 25 yard exacerbates the issue as we can’t position as defensively as needed without bringing our own damage to 0.

  3. Please fix the UI glitches, particularly the issues with pathing around Deep Breath and Landslide. Half the time, the green row showing my path is rapidly blinking or depending on the terrain even just not visible. Also, pushback on Empowered Spells does not correctly display. It leaps the cast progress indicator line off the empowered spell bar completely, so I have no idea of knowing how charged it is. Makes it very hard to cast effectively in PvP. In a fast paced game, these issues should never have made it to live!
