Feedback for Balance Druid

I just want to say I really like the new direction you’re taking for Balance Druids. The changes to mastery and adding a button for Eclipse are really good. Especially in PvP, it used to feel bad when you had to cast two Wraths or Starfires to enter Eclipse, and then healers just dispelled your DoTs you were losing so much damage during Incarnation. Now it feels much better, and I really appreciate that fix!

I haven’t played Midnight yet, but I’ve watched some gameplay of Boomkins, and I really love the changes. The only small thing I don’t like is that Eclipse is on the GCD it feels a bit clunky.

Also, I didn’t notice if this happens already, but it would be awesome if pressing the Eclipse button also automatically shifts you into Moonkin Form.

1. Solar Beam problem

One big issue Boomkins have is with Solar Beam. It has a 45s cooldown, and almost every healer can remove it — or another DPS can dispel it. Because of that, it doesn’t feel very strong in PvP.

It would be great to have one of these options:

  • A talent choice between the current Beam and a single-target interrupt (like Counterspell) with a 25s cooldown.
  • Or, a PvP talent that replaces Beam with a Counterspell-style ability (25s cooldown, single target, not AoE).

That way, we could choose depending on the comp or playstyle.

2. Starsurge and procs

I really like how Elemental Shaman feels with all its procs it’s very fun and reactive. For Boomkin, it doesn’t feel the same. When you’re spamming Starsurge, it kind of feels like it does nothing.

Maybe Starsurge could cost more Astral Power but hit harder that would make it feel more rewarding to press.

Also, I love the Full Moon talent, but right now it feels too weak and nobody really uses it. What if it worked more like Earth Shock, or maybe when it procs, instead of casting Starsurge, it automatically casts Full Moon instantly? That would make it much more exciting and satisfying to use.

Thanks for reading! I really love the direction you’re going with Boomkins, and I hope these small ideas help make them feel even better to play.
