These are the points I mentioned:
Sinful Brand gameplay acts like having a pet constantly attacking on the target, allowing you to do other stuff without a huge dps loss, as long as you maintain it. I think this is great for a Melee class with high mobility, and gives us a lot of room to breathe during fights. Removing this gameplay will make Demon Hunter very button mashing without any thought or consequence to certain actions! It will make you ignore mechanics a lot more for “higher dps” aka you will try harder for DPS than you currently do.
There are huge consequences to dropping your Sinful Brand which is actually a good thing, making this class more challenging to play, whilst having a high damage return. This in turn makes Eyebeam a life saver and much more meaningful than a burst of damage.
The changes to Cycle of Hatred in Dragon Flight Alpha are a step in the right direction (removing RNG) but I feel this change is TOO consistent. I suggest making it only happen on Annihilation.
Sinful Brand needs a way to be placed on multiple targets easier, either through buffing Metamorphosis’s CD in some way through Fury Spent or another way (like the current T4), or through making a new talent that makes Death Sweep cause Sinful Brand’s CD to drop, thus making it so Demon Hunter has more buttons to press including in Single Target.
Sinful brand isnt difficult to uphold, because theres no interaction which you are forced to do beyond simply continously pressing it. theres no difficulty to managing something a simple weak aura will tell u when to press realistically. it didnt add any complexity… it just created punishing gameplay realistically.
the fact you then say “Try harder for DPS” Kinda is a contradiction to the idea u do damage. the fact ur saying this ability reduces ur DPS Losses from actively playing safe instead of handling mechanics during combat, says realistically it also adds a level of forgiveness to the class.
sinful brand, simply doesnt need to exist. there is enough new coming to the DH. Along side with momentum being far easier to put into ur build adding that. which is a actual complexity. sinful brand is a terrible ability.
your Damage is pulled back 3 steps. for you to press a button on repeat in order to step 3 forward. it doesnt feel rewarding, nor complex. it just feels like a restriction u abide by.
i came from Feral and we could leave a lot of bleeds on a target and jump around, using our mobility. Demon Hunter could have been similar to this but these people who never played feral started complaining that bleed/dots are boring, are you serious? it feels like blizzard listened to all the warriors/rogeus/ench it doesn’t make sense that they’d find a single dot so boring. what is wrong with them. have they never played feral? we haven’t got many classes that play like feral where you have mobility + forgiveness as you say for doing other stuff/jumping around which compliments the mobility.
plus it fits the class fantasy as we are essentially melee warlocks, and with hunter in our name dots still play like something is damaging your target for you.
