Myself and my guild are loving Cataclysm Classic, but we’re running into the same issue I remember from original Cataclysm regarding 10-, 25-, heroic, and normal difficulty raid lockouts being boss specific.
Is there any scope for relaxing the current lockout system to allow for normal and heroic to have separate lockouts (raid ID rather than boss ID)?
The 10 / 25 shared lockout is less of an issue, and I understand that we don’t want a repeat of ToC in Wrath, where some players and guilds felt compelled to complete the raid on all four settings each week.
If we could complete both normal and heroic raids of the same size in the same lockout, this would allow the following improvements to the social aspects of (raiding) guilds:
- New raiders better able to learn the fights on normal and then progress onto heroic in the same reset.
- Heroic raiders able to help their guildmates in normal groups without needing to have an unsaved alt character.
- Faster progression each tier (a minor gripe, but worth considering in light of the expedited tier cadence planned for Classic Cataclysm).
Thanks for bringing back Cataclysm and for the responsive and compassionate approach to making changes (e.g., the Valor Point cap change).
