I wanted to share some feedback regarding the decision to make previously rare mounts (Midnight, Living Infernal Core and more) available for purchase at just 100,000 Bronze. I imagine this has been a thing in the other “remix” events, but this is the first time I spend time in one of them.
As someone who has spent significant time and effort farming these mounts — whether through persistence, luck, or dedication — it’s genuinely disheartening to see them suddenly made so easily accessible. These mounts once symbolized time investment, perseverance, and a bit of good fortune, but now that sense of rarity and achievement feels diminished.
While I understand and appreciate the intent to make more content accessible to all players, setting the price at 100k Bronze feels far too low for items that once carried such prestige. A higher price point, such as 2 million Bronze, would better preserve their value while still allowing dedicated players to earn them through effort.
At the very least, it would be amazing if you could add a Feat of Strength or other achievement for players who earned those mounts through drops, not by purchasing them from other players or through trade. That would help recognize the time and persistence people put in before they became easily available. That small gesture would go a long way in honoring the time and dedication of those who earned them the hard way.
I’ve loved this game for over a decade and truly appreciate the creativity and passion the team puts into it. That’s why I care so deeply about seeing effort and rarity continue to mean something within World of Warcraft.
Thank you for your time, and I hope you’ll consider this feedback moving forward…
A 0.4% drop rate (Infernal core) places the mount in the “ultra-rare” category. Players could easily spend dozens or even hundreds of hours farming without ever seeing it drop. Pricing it at 2 million bronze gives players a guaranteed path to obtain it, without relying purely on luck. You’re essentially trading time and effort for certainty — a fair exchange in my opinion. While 2 million bronze might sound like a steep price at first glance, it’s actually a fair and reasonable cost when you consider several key factors — especially the fact that bronze is a transferable, warband currency.
Keeping the price low like it is, everyone who plays remix can pretty much instantly buy the mount upon launch of that remix content (even some transmogs cost more and take more effort), undermining its prestige and flooding the game with what’s supposed to be a “ultra-rare” mount. A 2 million bronze cost ensures that obtaining it still feels like an achievement — something you work toward, rather than an impulse purchase.
No. I don’t agree with this, I also have loads of mounts/mogs farmed before Remix(es) and I don’t feel it disheartening at all. Yeah I have countless attempts on Garrosh Shoulders, Antorus scythes, sword and mount, and so on. But see it now return for people to get it easier, I’m happy for them, as it’s not enjoyable at all to farm.
And seeing other enjoy the pixels I got, and barely even use, does not affect my gameplay at all.
This one I agree with, that would be cool, but again, who even cares or check other peoples achievment, if you’re one of them, sure then it would be nice, me personally, that’s something I never ever consider to matter, to me.
Well nothing is rare, they have brought back a lot of stuff that has been unobtainable before, through either twitch drops, remixes, boosted drops, bugs, whatever…
And not AOTC and Mythic raid transmog deathless run, I mean… Pandoras box is open.
I have them and I do not care if they are accessible now for others. Timegating was always a bad player experience. I am happy people now doesn’t have to invest months into a pixel appearance
Spending countless hours farming pixels was never fun to me nor could i ever understand why someone would “waste” their time on it. Im now at 800 mounts and ive never “grinded” the same bosses every week for several years. I just dont get this POV. Sorry. Theres nothing exclusive about your “rare” drops these days.
WoW is entertainment, not a measure of personal worth. It’s not that deep. The game is built on escapism, not existential fulfilment.
It’s a game. It’s meant to be fun. Obsessive gatekeeping? Not fun. Treating in-game achievements like real-life accomplishments? That’s bonkers.
It’s pixels. You don’t actually own anything. One day, the servers will go offline—and it’ll all vanish. So enjoy it while it lasts, but let’s not pretend it’s more than what it is.
my brother in christ, it’s been 8 years. like other said, it’s a game, and in retail wow there is no prestige at all. everything is replaced instantly anyway. The only armor that hold some prestige is the mage tower set. The rest is easy to farm next xpac or upgrade with delves now. The prestige has been long gone and it’s for the better. Let people enjoy their toys. Be happy that you got to enjoy it for 8 years while others wanted it as well.
