Feedback on Warrior animations in TWW

Hello, feedback on the VFX / Animations for Warriors in TWW, based on the Hero Talents

Mountain thane feedback :

We need to up the VFX by about 1000%, when i first read the talents, i instantly started to think about MoP’s warrior glyph “Glyph of Thunder Strike”, which was one of the coolest glyph in WoW’s history, in terms of animation, we have the chance to bring it back thanks to the Mountain Thane hero talent, please, either use this glyph’s effects, or just make Thunder Blast / Thunder Clap similar to what the “Glyph of Thunder Strike” looked like, Thunder Blast & Thunder Clap are very, very underwhelming, as of right now, and there are barely any difference between Thunder Blast (the supposedly empowered version of Thunder clap) and Thunder Clap, both of these abilities should feel better to press, visually, as a Mountain Thane.

“Lighning Strikes” is also very underwhelming, make them bigger/wider, just overall more impressive, its all very very underwhelming right now, which sucks since compared to Slayer & Colossus ; Mountain Thane actually has the potential to go ham on the animations.

I had also hoped Avatar could be different for Mountain Thanes, add lightningy effects surrounding us during Avatar for exemple, since it is heavily featured in the Mountain Thane talents.

I was also disappointed not to see Odyn’s Fury be included in the Mountain Thane tree, missed opportunity to make Odyn’s Fury transform into a Thunder ability, but oh well

Colossus :

The main and most important point for Colossus is this talent “Mountain of Muscles and Scars” the % size increase is an amazing idea, but currently, this 5% number, is extremely low, there’s almost no difference between a Colossus warrior, and a regular warrior, the 5% feels insignificant → up it to 15% (10% if 15 turns out to be “too big”)
Another idea for Colossus Warriors, regarding the size increase part, make “Colossal Might” stacks, give 1% size increase, per stack, stacking up to 10 times, which would make us reach 15% size increase, at full stack

As for the rest, the animation for Demolish is… very disappointing

Slayer :

Not a lot of potential for animations, maybe make it so that Execute, for Slayer warriors, uses the animation of the Shadowlands Venthyr’s covenant ability “Condemn”

Maybe make Bladestorm more impressive, more colorful when accelerated or something like that (red/black)

Thanks

Slayer has no specific animation whatsoever, it feels like you don’t have Hero Talents at all (except for the roflcopter event).

But sincerely animation is not what we should worry about right now, all 3 specs with each hero talents options are boring af…

Well i disagree, animations can make these Hero talents go from boring, to not so boring (to possibly good), so its definitely important, but im less worried abt the gameplay element and the nodes themselves, as i am with the animations, i doubt they would add brand new animations to hero talents in a later mini rework in like 11.1.5 or what have u, whereas they might keep reworkig/iterating hero talents which are “bad” in these later patches, u know?

Animation, SFX and how damage is calculated to show, are all factors that I find highly important if I am going to enjoy it or not.

So any feedback that contributes to that sounds good to me.

Thunder Bolts and lightning should look and feel as cool as they can get away with (warrior side, for the rest of the players it should be minimal impact visually, to avoid clutter). If they simply copy what most do with lightning, with the flash-boom, it should be hard to do it wrong. Just need the right effect and sounds.

Additions, like Avatar being electric, and that jazz just sounds like a no-brainer addition. Also allows other players (in PvP and world) to be able to spot what kind of warrior this is more easily. Just sounds like more visual clarity and information. I love that stuff.

I am certain the dev team is doing the best they can, within the WoW engine. But I would always support pushing for better and more polish!

I’m not saying we should discard all animation feedback, but we need to consider that launch is confirmed for 26th August.

The crunch period is already started and further spec modifications will stop soon due to the need to align all specs on damage, mitigation and utility. Right now, some specs are clear winners and others are definitely losers (hunters are for example completely ridiculous compared to mage/monk/dk).

Considering they also need to fix all the related bugs to professions, questing, etc… It will go very fast now and I doubt we will see big rework on the hero talents or specs themselves. I really hope they are working on it hard and will bring some nice evolution that we can look out for at release time.

The people who do balancing of classes and professions are different people than those who do animations, and the Warrior class really needs some visual flair, the hero-talents system loses its impact if we can hardly tell we have those talents.

This class has never received any good animations. Look at paladins blowing stuff up with templar and even windwalker monks kicking, tiger clawing and doing all sorts of stuff. Meanwhile warriors get to spin in the same 2008 animation and using Demolish has to be the most underwhelming thing to do currently. Thank god warlocks get random giga demons to laser everything down but warrior cant even get a decent raging blow or even rampage animation.
PS. Subtlety’s eviscerate looks better than any ability warrior has ( and that has just been changed recently, just because ).
This whole developer team has an unexplained angst against this class since the games’ release. At this point just come out and say you don’t wanna do anything fun for it and admit it.
