With so many external resources available—like Wowhead, which is even linked within your in-game support menus—players are increasingly relying on third-party sites to understand encounters and game mechanics. While resources like Google, Reddit, Icy Veins, and Wowhead offer valuable insights, having to constantly switch between these sources makes learning the game feel more like a chore than an engaging challenge.
For me, joining a pug raid or mythic run requires extensive preparation, which I don’t always mind, but it can often feel overwhelming. Would it be possible to offer more in-game learning experiences to teach players how to approach these encounters?
For example, imagine a solo training mode for raid encounters: players could enter alone to face mobs and bosses with mechanics tuned for practice. The gameplay could pause at critical moments to explain what’s happening, including key mechanics and their counters. Visual guides, such as animated character models, could demonstrate the correct approach to each phase and help players learn how to react effectively.
I think this would make end-game content more accessible and enjoyable for players who want to participate confidently without needing to sift through multiple external sources.
Plus, an integrated in-game learning tool would provide a more cohesive and enjoyable learning experience, allowing players to focus on mastering the game directly within its environment.
