Feeling kinda squishy/under powered?

Returned to playing my druid for the pre-shadowlands launch, try and get them ready for the new content and unlock some more stuff on them.

But, since hitting Nazjatar and the Invasion content for corrupted stuff… I feel like I’m trying to headbutt my way into a tank?
I’ve run Resto/balance since I made the character back in the day and always found it pretty fun/relatively simple to boom through even groups of mobs; but now I’m struggling against even some solo targets, much less mobs of 2-3.

Characters running a near full benthic loadout, item score just shy 400 and yet I’m getting utterly creamed by some enemies who I’ve just breezed through on other characters at a similar item level. I go Boomchicken and I’m dying in a couple hits. I go resto and I’m surviving longer; but only by often spamming heals to negate damage that usually still out hammers me.

I know I’m likely doing something wrong, but I honestly do not know what x.x

This is normal, Nazjatar and Assault mobs are tweaked and harder to be a challenge for already overpowered people with corruptions, it’s not good for people who recently started and didn’t get decent gear, i think 430+ is enough to have fun instead of misery in assault, while nazjatar is easy around 400.

A case of grind out some more world missions for 400-415 gear while boosting up my benthic stuff eh?

I’m so used to playing on my Fury Warrior. Even at sub 400 she walked through the invasions like nothing. Now I feel like a toddler taking on Mike Tyson xD

Those uldum and vale mobs have deadly spells, they can hit for 200k if you are not paying attention, most of the time you can avoid them, but in aoe this may be kinda hard, esp if those mobs have stun or any other form of CC, big burst and any healing is required to feel comfortable there  1% per mob doesn’t help either  but it’s not You problem, everyone is struggling at first there

I’m almost 450 ilvl and my pet is dying there like a dummy, god bless quick revive pet

Good to know xD the laughable thing is… doing the Uldum quest to activate the forge with the 1200k dude… was the easiest I’ve done so far. I think that gave me false confidence. So when I entered the world; ouch xD

Warrior has this problem that he doesn’t have too much healing while mobs hits hard  the only way is to kill before you are being killed

See, my warrior I never have issue on with world mobs. All I need to do is power one down and my 30% heal is ready to fire again. Now I’m 415-420 on my warrior; she’s just chewing through even elite 1000k mobs with little issue.

Hopefully my druid will get there. One day xD

Try guardian spec if you are low geared(sad truth) or look for groups for questing.

Its not really about ilvl. Feral is terrible in terms of damage optimization. Even at near max ilvl, most of other classes one shot mobs while you try to kill them with ‘’‘lackluster ferocious bite’’ or wear down them with primal wrath and wait them to die.

Warriors have that problem until they get another epic 2h wep. After that Fury warriors are extremely good for questing or farming.Even at low ilvl. (insane self heal and dps)

Things get easier as feral when you are epic geared and have few corrupted items. But until then things are a bit slow. If you are worried about dying, go guardian and pull 5x mobs at once and enjoy mass killings. Its a bit slow though.

Oh I dont play feral or guardian, I’ve exclusively played Resto/Balance up until now and had no real issues. I hated how Guardian felt, and Feral… felt like a worse, more annoying version of Rogue… a class I generaly disliked to start with xD.

It’s just with this Azshara content/Pre Shadowlands updates, it’s felt like stuffs gotten ALOT worse for characters not at the perfect gear level/set bonuses.

Yeah, leather can be super squishy sometimes, especially when undergeared. You’ll have to take advantage of your kiting etc sometimes.
