There isn’t much wrong with it. It’s not as if it’s suddenly erasing male and female: We all know BT 1 and 2 are mostly used for that purpose. We all know what male and female is. (Despite what the reactionaries are saying).
It’s more for those who don’t wish for their characters to be classified as such. This way everyone is represented.
