Feral Aoe talent build?

I didn’t have the time to try out the new feral in dungeons because no one wants dds :stuck_out_tongue:

But I am still curious what is the go to build for M+ dungeons since it is mostly about dishing out aoe damage.
I feel the changes are weird and not too obvious as each build brings obvious problems or losing too much in certain areas.

row 15: predator, sabertooth, lunar inspiration

predator:
sounds like the go to for dungeons as mobs die often, but in reality most mobs die at the same time so you also don’t really get too much out of it. You will also lose tons of single target damage.

Sabertooth:
is pretty good but doesn’t do much for all the trash in the dungeons? Or do we actually have enough energy to bite frequently?

Lunar inspiration:
Well, no idea. tabbing around with rake and LI sounds not fun and probably we don’t even have the energy to do so. It also takes too long to setup aoe dmg actually.

Row 75: SoF, SR, Incarn

SoF: sounds actually pretty garbage, but in comparison to the other maybe the go to talent.

SR: sounds not so bad but in practice it plays horrible and seem not to do much?

Incarn: I don’t even know why this talent still exists especially after they shifted more of the shred bonus to shred baseline. Basicly a longer berserk with little damage increase, but since berserk is already terrible… well

Row 90: Scent of Blood, Brutal Slash, Primal Wrath

SoB: Sounds boring. Swipe also doesn’t do damage so I don’t see the point, but maybe it is fine on numbers

Brutal Slash: the damage is underwhelming but is good for aoe burst, so probably nice for lower dungeons where everything is dead after 3 slashes

Primal Wrath: I love the idea of this talent. We have an aoe finisher but actually can only use it every 10 seconds and in the meantime we still have to spend our points on bites which will leave you energy starved. Doesn’t make much sense.

Row 100: MoC, BT, FF

MoC: It’s ok and has its underwhelming use in every situation

BT: I just hate it. Probably the best talent but in hectic situations I just cannot handle it good enough.

FF: I love FF but the non instant combo point generation is just SO BAD!!!11. The damage could also use an upgrade or lower the cd. The problem is that combo point spender are also pretty garbage, that makes the talent less worth as well.

What is your go to talent setup in m+ without gimping your ST (which is already not awesome).

Im doing 13-14 keys on my feral. This is the best build so far, balanced both for trash and bosses.

P.S. SoF is bis talent currently.
On trash mobs you dont bite unless you are figthing only 2 targets at a time. If its 3+ you just rake them all, thrash, spam swipe and primal wrath. If its 4+ targets remove rake and just spam swipe-thrash-primal wrath. Primal wrath crits for 8+k in my current gear setup (apart from leaving a dot aswell).
Having Soul of the Forest will never leave you energy starved at all both cleave and single target.
Blood talons is super easy to manage.
Our single target is very strong.

so you still spam primal wrath even if the bleeds have still 10s left?

Well why not? :slight_smile: It deals lot of primary damage and refreshes your dot. If you have just two targets, bite is probably better, but 3+ I think that just finishing with wrath deals more dps.

What about predator for more energy ?

Yeah, 30% of attack power+BT buff, and it can deal 3-4k easy (upto 8k crits). Thats not bad at all and you dont have to worry about your dots ever fading.

And predator… well. On varied mob packs its not bad, it gives you more energy and higher uptime, but you usually lose quite a lot boss dps with it. So it probably depends on mythic traits, if they are very trash mob oriented it might be good, otherwise I would consider sabertooth as core. Predators value also highly scales with jungle fury trait, so it should be taken into consideration aswell.

Another point to consider is that lot of time mobs die in quick succession, meaning you don´t really gain that much from predator if they all die at the same time.

Predator is not really worth in m+, because m+ is not just trash mobs.
You will lose way too much dps on bosses if you go Predator and not Sabertooth.
And more than that if you really think about it having other 2 dps in a group packs will pretty much always be at same health percentage. Meaning that when you get the first benefit of Predator after the 1st mob dies, the pack is already pretty much dead.

Not a good design imho. The single target damage lost is very noticeable when we take Predator instead of Sabertooth. The new AoE Primal Wrath is kinda useless on single target, but I think it’s still worth in comparison to Brutal Slash for M+.

yeah PW is great in M+, in raids BS will probably be more valuable
