Feral druid dps DESPAIR

I decided to go feral druid dps for wotlk, and was really hyped about it. Turns out, though, that most of the time I’m just sat there waiting for energy to use my abilities. With power shifting no longer being a thing, we have to rely on omen of clarity procs to reach dps numbers comparable with most other classes.

But when I’m in cat form omen of clarity ALMOST NEVER PROCS!

When I’m bear tanking it procs all the time. It makes it so I am able to do something with each global, and it feels great to play.

But in cat form… I start out getting my savage roar up and a mangle on the target, then use tiger’s fury to get full energy, and pop berserk. Then, for the next 15 seconds I am able to keep up with the damage of the rest of the group. Then the numbers start plummeting. After berserk is over, I spend most of my time waiting for the energy bar to fill up enough that I can do a shred. It is not unusual for omen of clarity to NEVER PROC during a boss fight.

On trash packs its even worse. Mangle, savage roar, swipe. Then a tiger’s fury for some energy, and swipe, swipe. Wait. Wait. Wait. Swipe…

Im doing less aoe dps on my level 80 pre raid bis geared feral druid than on my level 70 kara geared mage. Boomkins rack up 3 to 4 times as much damage most of the time as what I am capable of.

So yea… is there a way to make omen of clarity proc more often? Is there a way to increase energy regeneration rate?

The way things are now, feral dps is looking like a huge disappointment. First guild raid is on friday, and I am eager to see how feral dps plays on longer fights. I worry that I will perform way worse than everyone else and get benched.

Snarky remarks from bored trolls notwithstanding, I’d love to hear what other feral dps players are thinking.

Already a good start

Current playstyle is switching to bear when you have nothing left on cat except basic attack so you don’t go down in dps much

Well you either make perfect combos and bear switches or you sulk.
If it is too much for you or you want smth more chill - even lobotomized can unholy play dk and have top dmg.

You prob will. But decide to yourself do you want to sweat and train feral to be competitive or you want to join casual ranks and become dk or caster dd.
I made my choice

Man… thats cringe

Idk man im destroying it on single target, aoe is a bit lacking though .

But pvp is imba, Meow!

Being good at feral requires you to be an exceptionally good player and to understand the nuances of a rotation and priority over a long period of time, you have to plan ahead and think ahead, there is a reason it’s known as the hardest spec in the game.

They are absolutely very strong in raids, particularly in Ulduar (tho to my memory they get outscaled in ICC with ArP benefitting other classes more). It’s a good class to pick for the expansion, but know what you signed up for, they can be very frustrating and punishing.

Indeed, I remember playing my feral in Ulduar with max Arp and I was first on every single fight. Without Arp it wasn’t that good though
