Feral Druid talents received another update

I will give my feedback here:
I will call back to the post where I identified all the previous feedback given by the druid community on the initial talents (this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/wxtzpc/love_letter_to_the_future_feral_druid_designer/)

Now to the analysis of changes in perspective of previous feedback.

  • Brutal Slash replacing Swipe and placement - solved. Brutal Slash remains a possible pick, while Swipe is buffed through several talents.
  • Strict pathing (single routes, useless talents for a build must be taken, plus talents which need to be taken for one useful thing, talent placement in general, too few options and talents in general) - just look at this new beautiful tree… So many pathways. Also, there are multiple viable builds.
  • Berserk (strength, cooldown) - added cooldown reduction, much more strength in the initial Berserk talent. Only, Avatar of Ashamane remains underwhelming and i see nobody taking it over Convoke the spirits.
  • Infected wounds underpowered and mandatory - buffed (in unexpected way to be honest, but ok). It would be nice if trash would apply IW, but this is more for Guardian.
  • Predatory Swiftness placement - it remained mandatory, and not being able to cast Rebirth. This should be changed.
  • Survival Instincts placement - well it is still a gateway to some things, but not as before.
  • Too many 3-point talents - solved. Great change.
  • Specialisation specific buff for raids - sadly not solved.
  • Cyclone, Soothe, Typhoon, and Hibernate hard to reach - hopefully a revision of the class tree is coming.
  • Energy reduction too many talents - talents have been diversified, which is ok.
  • Sabertooth (philosophy of the talent) - solved.
  • Sudden Ambush (too weak and to costly) - buffed and reduced number of talents.
  • Symbiosis (people want it back) - please Blizzard put it back in class tree. Pretty please.
  • Lack of clear bite/bleed builds - solved. There are no more bite builds, but you can focus on buffing bite through Taste from blood and managing bleeds proper. This is a great change.
  • Too much damage from Ferocious Bite - bleeds significantly buffed. We still have to see how will this look at the tuning stage.
  • AoE being poorly supported - where to even begin. This has been so well solved that nobody expected this i think.
  • Bloodtalons placement - better now and accessible for different builds.
  • Sickle of the Lion not being in the tree - still not there, but AoE is well solved. I am still convinced that adding it to Avatar to Ashamane would solve it being too weak compared to convoke.
  • Furor usability for Feral druids - still not solved. Let us hope for a change in class tree.
  • Casting in forms - not solved sadly. It seems that is not going to be done in this expansion.
  • Hearth of the wild options - still not solved. Please change this through the class tree.
  • Too much pruning - still needs to be solved through class tree. For all resto PvP druids return stun on rake from stealth as basic.
  • Convoke the spirits cooldown too long - solved in the last change.
  • Adaptive swarm not fitting for the druid - minor thing, not changed, but flavor stays from Shadowlands.
  • Disabled weaving of other specialisations - rake stun needs to be returned to basic spell. Let us see what changes would there be from other specialisations. Again switching to Moonkin for a short period for some Starsurges is very controversial, some liked it some did not.
  • Druidic “feel”, not pruned rogues or warriors - again a lot of that is related to the class tree, but it is better now.
  • Shifting of GCD - guess it is not happening.
  • Feral Frenzy placement - better now, not competing with Bloodtalons as well.
  • Wanted abilities - Force of Nature - let us hope for class tree, Fairy Fire - seemingly not happening, Displacer Beast - let us hope for the class tree changes. I repeat, put this instead of Feral Charge as an option and make Feral Charge baseline, Tranquillity - again let us see the class tree changes.

Some of the few things I picked up feedback to last tree.

  • Placement of Double Clawed rake behind Scent of Blood - solved.
  • Placement of Lunar Inspiration - better now.
  • 4% crit talent - changed
  • Placement of Protective Growth - I personally did like it there, but a lot of folks wanted it changed. It was changed.
  • Possibility to move to the right side of the tree without taking AoE talents such as Primal Wrath - fixed.

Overall I am very satisfied with the tree as it is now. A lot of feedback has been addressed. What remains is Predatory Swiftness and Avatar of Ashamane as problematic or underpowered talents. Also just if we would have some nice things done to class tree to enable more interconnection with other specs. Tranquility for ALL!! :slight_smile:

dayum they are doing well at getting Feral to be good finally… looks exciting to see so much work done.
