Feral Frenzy still damages me even with Greater Fade up. I’ve noticed it this week, as it has happened multiple times and died to it as a result
You can’t Gfade a channeling spell such as frenzy void torrent or drain life.
Probably whta happened to you.

If you read the tool tip for greater fade, it says causing ‘most’ spells, not all, to miss you. Guess feral frenzy isn’t one of them.
I wish Blizz were more specific about what gets avoided and how much damage it take for a fear or root to break… e.g. Entangling Roots tool tip should say breaks after taking X amount of damage

But I could swear I’ve broken Drain Lifes with it (but not 100% sure)
I mean Feral Frenzy happens to be a DoT over 6s so if you do fade riiiight after it’s been clicked you will die to it during the animation but it’s actually DoT damage, and DoT damage keeps damaging through Greater Fade.
It hits very hard.
It’s the same rules as for if you fade after a gpy or chaos bolt is flying, you’ll eat it.
I can’t say I’m 100% sure because the tooltip isn’t really clear but I can tell you I’ve killed other priest in fade with void torrent so I assume other channeling spell can.

Feral Frenzy is a weird one. The DoT applies instantly but if the target leaves melee range during the (considerable) animation, you can quite easily lose some of the 5 combo points that it’s supposed to give you. I’ve had Mages Blink as I press it and legitimately gain 1 Combo Point.
I’ve noticed that a lot of AoE’s also go through Greater Fade. Anecdotal claim is anecdotal but thought I’d throw it out there. The tooltip being unclear is amazing.
Feral Frenzy has 5 “auto-attacks” as initial damage, these happen over a short time and you get 1 combo point for each of them. Each of them adds damage to the dot, so if you only get one of those initial hits the dot doesn’t do full damage.

Ray of frost will also kill you through the fade 
Garrote goes through it as well
