Feral state as of now in shadowlands

Hi,everyone.

I am a feral main for the past 8 months nonstop. I picked up the class because i love that the class does not rely on any rng components nor it’s cooldown based but that’s not it.One of my top reasons for that is that the class in order to play propperly requires some thinking and even if you are a seasoned player there will always be windows for mistakes.

Now blizzard ur making a huge mistake with those changes in Shadowlands.Feral was probably the worst spec to play in 8.0 and succesfull changes made it to atleast be slightly viable in m+ and in raiding by mostly fixing it’s AoE.

Now how the raw truth is that:
1)Our unique utility at stampeding roar is baseline for every other druid spec but feral’s didnt get the ursol’s vortex which was promised.
2)Feral as a meelee class is if not the most squishy melee definitely top 3.By removing SI the only way to survive dmg is to shapeshift to bear form and pop barkskin which is a mediocre deffensive at best whillst moonkin form gives them armor and they does not require to shapeshift at all.
3)Bloodtalons overhaul although it was needed i think it’s a step in the wrong direction. The mechanic to snappshot is unique to ferals and it should be a mechanic that can be managed and mess up with.Right now only rip can get snappshoted and just use rake when it’s on pandemic. You made the spec from intresting to boring. As of bfa 8.3 bloodtalons was a unique as each time i activated on a Ferosious bite i had always the choise to either spend it on a rake or a shred or brutal slash and that kind of choises made the spec more intresting. On top of that the change on the current Bloodtalons makes sabertooth a very awkward talent to use.
4) Right now every druid spec offer’s some form of meaningfull utility with restoration having innervate, vortex boomkins having innervate , vortex and both of them stampeding roar whillst feral litterally offers 0 utility compared to both of these classes

In conclusion unless the rip in total deals a huge ammount of dmg and number’s compesate for the utility loss to other druid specs feral is deemed to for another expansion a memespec and not taking it seriously for groups in mythic plus or raiding in general. I personally will not take part to it’s downfall and i am already thinking of rerolling to a rogue.

Ferals state in Sl as of name is summed up in 2 words: Disappointing/unplayable.

Viability can change easily, core gameplay changes come very rarely, and feral has problems beyond the bt rework in that regard.

It is amazing how many thinks they can do to make the spec viable in both mythic+ and raiding but what they do is just reducing the class to rubble. One thing? Give feral’s leader of the pact baseline.I believe that change alone will make the class 100% viable in every type of content or at least it’s something unique that we can debate about it when the question ‘‘what do you bring’’ appears.

Yes, LotP would make Feral get brought to at least raid content. I’m more doubtful on PvP/M+. But the main question is: Would it make the spec fun? No it wouldn’t.

Typhoon needs to be baselined, SbT needs reverting to the FB execute, or replace it with Force of Nature from MoP. BT probably needs a(nother) rework. Freedom of the Herd needs to be baselined. Powershifting needs to be brought back (maybe as a PvP talent but I feel it’s holding us back in all content). And yes, LotP should come back as well - after all these years Ferals deserve to be brought to content.

Yes, I also think Affinities should just be outright removed… but we’ll see about that.

Man, Ridtur you’re my spirit animal +1 on everything (Powershifting!!! PPPLLLLSSS) - I also really dislike the whole idea of them locking abilities behind an affnitiy, but I guess that’d be a bigger project.

also, as mentioned in other threads IF they insist on removing SI completly they should atleast give us wild charge baseline and give us the option of picking another defensive ability from that row.

I know we’re all repeating ourselves here, but if we wannt blizzard to listen to us we have to keep going.

Preach it. Now’s the time.

Well, not on its own. Revamping talents would still be needed, at least to sort out the Sabertooth/Blood Talons mess. But it would mean people’s reaction to me joining a group might change to “oh, nice, lotp” instead of “meh, feral wasting melee spot” (paraphrasing here).
