Feral survivability in SL without azerite traits...?

I’m a bit confused and hope someone can give me a realistic and not a “Blizz hates feral!” answer :slightly_smiling_face:

Atm in BFA we Ferals REQUIRE the Masterful Instincts azerite trait to survive in PvP. Without it we are squishy and die instantly.

So… in Shadowlands we are losing our azerite traits, including Masterful Instincts. How do we survive now?

I’m aware we got Barkskin, but we also lost 1 of our 2 stacks of Survival Instincts. So in that department we didn’t really gain anything big.

In PvP you wanna stack Tiger Fury, heart of darkness and whatever left that gives you vers.

If any, every class is loosing vers corruptions that is whats gives you survavility, but anyway we have soulbinds wich are azerite traits 2.0 so we’ll do fine.

The trait masterfull instinct is offensive.

Not at all. Masterful Instincts is used solely for the offensive benefit.

Well, you don’t want to stack Tiger’s Fury. But Heart of Darkness, On My Way and other (?) Versatility traits, definitely.

That’s just nonsense, the armour MI offers is very useful in PvP and the fact it triggers after SI suggests it was designed to increase survivability.

The defensive aspects of the trait are essentially null (because almost no class deals any substantial physical damage that is affected by armor). So no, you’re wrong.

If you actually knew anything about PvP you’d know that MI is picked purely for the offensive benefit, so that you can go on the counter-attack after you’ve been defensive.

Go look at a guide or something. You haven’t even played a single arena game above 1550 rating. Stop pretending you have any idea about PvP.

That’s not true. How on earth did you come to that conclusion? Hahah.

The trait is designed to increase survivability, but definitely not for the reasons you just gave. The thing with the trait is that it fails massively at providing survivability. Instead the bonus Mastery is very helpful and thus the trait has become an offensive one.

That’s just nonsense. And frankly so is the rest of your statement. If you know anything about PvP…

A trait that’s triggered after a defensive that improves defence hmm let me think. You really are clueless.

This is just laughable at this point.

Go ask anyone who actually PvPs. Please.

So that means I cant ask you. But as you asked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rLV8r1-CnE&t=1578s go to approx 18mins.

Are you for real? I’m a multigladiator Feral with 2.7K+ experience, and 2.6K+ in 4 consecutive expansion - including BfA.

You on the other hand have no clue.

This guy is 1600 rated, and hasn’t been above 2K rating since 2011.

He’s just seen that top players use the trait and, incorrectly, assumed it’s partly due to the defensive benefits. It’s not.

Moreover, the video is from 8.2.5 and is absolutely riddled with other inaccuracies, even for that patch. He’s even suggesting to use BotE, Savage Roar and Mass Entanglement in PvP for gods sake.

He has no clue. Just like you. It’s the blind leading the blind. It’s as if a WQ player started making Mythic raiding class guides.

Please. Stop.

Well we did get HotW, not the real version, and we cant heal in cat form, but its something???

If we got MoP Heart of the Wild + Cenarion Ward instead of swiftmend for resto affinity then feral would have good survivability again. But right now feral is just looking very squishy, bad offhealing, no way to stop pressure besides sitting in bear and just slowing down the process with 0 dmg output
