I found a class and PVP playstyle that i true love, and its feral. Trying to get a grasp on the basics and plan direction of stats on my gear. Ive seen several guide vids on youtube mentionting that CRIT is the most important stat for a feral druid, after agility. On ICY veins however, cris is ranked as the LEAST important stat. What gives?
I don’t know the details but Crit gets penalised in PvP somehow. Therefore, it is valuable in PvE but not so much in PvP.
In PvP a critical strike is not 200% of normal damage, but 175% ( I think), which lessens the value a bit. Also, haste is very good to get casts off and also gives an extremely minor energy regen boost. It’s not that we don’t want crit, we desperately crave it, but haste helps a lot with getting cyclones and regrowths off.
Although, if you play around Sabertooth like I see you have talented then crit might be more important simply to get those big, chunky crits.
You have to remember though, that the community is rather small and there is probably no definitive answer. The real good players seem to just play whatever they argue themselves into playing and make it work.
I don’t know who has written that guide, or how up to date it is.
Crit is more valuable for a Feral Druid than the average class / spec because of the extra combo points you generate.
The current arena meta is also very bursty, which favors crit.
Haste is more of a consistent damage thing, and you need quite a lot of it to actually modify the cast-time of Cyclone.
