I’m experiencing odd few seconds game feezes in Legion Dalaran. It happens only for one character after logging in to the game. It’s like 10 seconds freeze not a crash, after I can play without any problems.
Most strange is I have game freeze only in Dalaran and only this happening when I’m logging on my mage, this is not happening in other places, no other characters. Does my character is bugged? Anyone else experienced something like that also?
Thanks for letting me know that your character is stuck >.< He has been moved to Stormwind and should now be able to be logged in!
Sometimes being stuck like this might happen just because of a hole in the world or a glitched graphic. Other times though, getting stuck can be a symptom of a more serious problem. If you get stuck more than once in a great while, here’s the steps you’ll want to take:
Step One: Driver Updates
Make sure your video card drivers are updated. If they’re out of date, the area might be too much for the game to load and your video card could be causing the disconnect. For information to find out what kind of Video Card you have and then how to update the drivers, please visit: http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/driver-update-information
If you are not comfortable updating drivers on your system, you may wish to contact your video card/chipset manufacturer and ask what driver you should install.
Step Two: Graphics Settings
Lower your video settings. Click the “System” button on the log in screen before you log into the game. Have everything that says low/fair/etc be Low or Disabled. Also, go into Windowed Mode. This will make a window smaller than your screen for WoW to play, which is less hard for your video card to run. Click OK then close WoW.
Step Three: Reset UI If you get stuck a lot and the other two steps don’t help!
If you have the Curse forged client, please uninstall this program first. Then, go to your World of Warcraft folder on your hard drive. If you are on windows, you can right click the icon that launches the game and select “Open Containing Folder”. In here, I want you to delete Cache, WTF and Interface, then empty your trash. If you do run addons after this, please only use the newest ones available for the patch the game is currently on; older addons have a tendency to break things.
Does GM’s even read tickets? or is this just a bot? I can’t even replay to this becouse my ticket was closed automaticly. Opened second one and quickly got another replay telling me to do basic troubleshooting. In my ticket I mentioned that I did every troubleshooting step and I doubt it’s on my side. If so I would have freezes on all of my characters, not just one.
My question is. How I suppose to get a help? I need real person who will check my account and affected character.
Unfortunately, I can attest that this is the current state of support. I’ve made 2 tickets and gotten 8 replies altogether on the subject. Most of the answers felt as if they hadn’t even read the ticket, while the others were plainly unhelpful, and I’m still stuck with the problem. People keep telling me to keep trying, but if I have to keep trying or throw a fit on the forum to get help for a game that I’m paying for, then I have no kind words for that.
Now, about your problem. I have had the same issue with a character in a large guild. Check if you are in a big guild, and if you are, your only option is to leave that guild until this problem is solved.
The fact that this only affects one of your characters and only in specific place might mean that this “freeze” is addons processing information related to this character and being bad at it. There’s many reasons for addons to behave like this, from edge case buff combinations to environmental factors to just being plain outdated.
If you are using addons, try a full UI reset (that’s not just “disable all addons”):
If this also happens without any addons active, you could post in technical support who will ask more detailed technical data of you, but please try the interface reset option first because it fixes things like this in many cases.
I see, then I have no idea. I have solved mine by leaving the guild. I would assume that communities can cause the same problem, but I can’t confirm it. So maybe check that too. But, I don’t believe it’s on your end, I’ve seen a lot of posts with the same problem in the past 2 weeks.
Your problem does sound more specific, as it is only Dalaran that causes it. Browse the US forums, they’re more active, and maybe you can find something that will help you.
Thats why I need a real person to check my character, not a bot with copy-paste answers. All I can think he was bugged out at some point. It never happened before pre patch. I’m going to keep opening tickets untill someone answer
Please make sure you name the right location where this happens because if “Dragon Isles Dalaran” means Valdrakken to you, not everybody may be aware. If you actually mean Dalaran, you should differentiate between e.g. Legion Dalaran or Wrath Dalaran.
I think I know why is this happening. My mage fell off from the world doing pre patch Silithus quest using teleportation scroll. It happens since then. I think in some way he was bugged out at that time.
From over a week my mage freezes my game for around 10 seconds every time when I log to the game or short after. It happens only in Legion Dalaran. Most odd is that game freeze only when I’m in the upper part of town. Game never freeze in Underbelly or inside the Chamber of the Guardian. It’s the only place in a whole world where my game freeze. I have no such issues with other characters as well. Just my mage.
I did everything what I could. Every possible troubleshoot I could do, I did. Even bought realm transfer hoping it’s going to fix this.
I’m losing my hope that he going to be eternally bugged in that place. Does anyone experience anything like this? Any suggestions how to fix that please?
Yes - we have a big commuinty Guild … 600+ Member - CrossRealm and faction.
Since the Patch and over 600 Members it Starts.
Long Loadingscreens and big freezes after log in for like 40-60 Secounds.
Every character not in that guild → NO freaking problem.
Every ID reset it goes better, for a few days… We believe, the Guildcache goes full with every day what passes after reset/Server restart.
Wednesday (ID Reset/Server Restart) its a lag/freezes-free day… Thursday evening its slowly starts again
try to leave the guild … i bet it will be better then. - We just pray for a solution soon - but tbh - i gave up hope too a little …
Sorry for that english not my native, just a german player searching with people with the same problems.
I’m afraid our problems are a little different. I got freeze only on one character and only in Legion Dalaran - upper part, never in Underbelly or Chamber of the Guardian and it happens only short after logging or couple minutes later.
I left guild like week ago thinking that might be the case as yours but sadly did not helped. Still got freeze even my mage is not in a guild. I even bought realm transfer to get rid of that.
Worst part is all my tickets are continually closed and marked as resolved without a chance to get a proper GM to take a look into it.
Try to open one not in the tech categorie c: there is just Ai generates and auto close… at least it seams like it.
My first two tickets was closed that way - Now I have one at “not listed” …and it has been running for 3 days and not just one hour like the two so far.
So i have hope that a real person will have a look over it
I got something similar, except it doesnt seem to matter what zone. The freeze will sometimes last a few seconds, sometimes lead to a permanent freeze / crash.
restart pc → start wow → login with any character
.go to legion dalaran
go into the middle, port to the event area
port back to dalaran center
walk outside
10 -20 seconds freeze as soon as you cross the rooms edge into the small hallway.
works 100% of the time on my pc and my laptop.
PC is fully responsible - can alt tab into another game and play just fine
wow process completly hangs for a few seconds. - works fine afterwards.
no crashing . just hang
freshly reinstalled windows, too . can reproduce even after that.
very consistently.
(i did not rule out addons yet) - but iam ruling out a hardware issue at this point
There is something not right with Legion Dalaran for sure. Probably an event messed up, some kind of phasing perhaps. Before pre patch I did not experienced such freezes any where. And I’m playing this game nearly 18 years. Most odd is I have this issue only on my mage.
