Final letter to Stalker and Activision-Blizzard

This is going to be my last message here in regards to the whole stalker saga subject that’s been lasting for years and I’ve been posting forum threads dedicated to it, as the whole story just became worse and worse with each year.

For context, I’ll not add direct links to imgur. Mods prefer to remove them as ‘this matter should be handled by the customer support service’ rather than let the community know its heroes and whom to avoid, while simultaneously letting such individuals keep doing what they do. For those who know tinyurl website, simply add stalkersaga after slash.

To my stalker:

[edited - please do not use these forums to post personal attacks on specific individuals]

To Blizzard:

Blizzard End User License Agreement.
Paragraph C.
License Limitations. Blizzard may suspend or revoke your license to use the Platform, or parts, components and/or single features thereof, if you violate, or assist others in violating, the license limitations set forth below. You agree that you will not, in whole or in part or under any circumstances, do the following:

Disruption / Harassment: Engage in any conduct intended to disrupt or diminish the game experience for other players, or disrupt operation of Blizzard’s Platform in any way, including:

  • Disrupting or assisting in the disruption of any computer used to support the Platform or any Game environment. ANY ATTEMPT BY YOU TO DISRUPT THE PLATFORM OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF ANY GAME MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS.

  • Harassment, “griefing,” abusive behavior or chat, conduct intended to unreasonably undermine or disrupt the Game experiences of others, deliberate inactivity or disconnecting, and/or any other activity which violates Blizzard’s Codes of Conduct or In-Game Policies.

In my last ticket, GM only addressed two points that my stalker does: Throws pumpkins & Spams toys. And also informed me that if I continue to report my stalker, it’ll be considered as a GM harassment.

I’d like to know what abstract definition this word ‘harassment’ is to you. I consider myself harassed if a certain act or actions continue to take place against my persona on regular basis and against my will. I believe that this is a sensible definition of this word. However, in almost every ticket I’ve made, most GMs simply gave me ‘pro tips’ to not interact/react to my stalker & use /ignore function.

Stalker is not interested in talking with me.
Stalker is interested in:

  1. Stalking me.
  2. Using toys such as pumpkins or spam said toys to disrupt my RP experience and/or remind me that I’m being watched.
  3. Use trade and general chats to badmouth me.
  4. Whisper people that either approach me or I approach them ICly, telling them what ‘bad rper and horrible person I am’.
  5. Using two or more accounts to conduct such behavior over the years.

If the first three years ever since the end of 2017 until 2020 I’ve been somewhat ‘tolerating’. Last three years from 2020 until 2023, I’ve been reporting my stalker a lot. My friends who were disturbed by him, reported him. Random RPers who were contacted by him, reported him. And RPers that were harassed by him, reported him.

But he continues to do what he does. It’s not a big reveal of a year how a customer center that’s been paid to do their job, have such a vague & watered out set of protocols on what to do in such cases.

In truth, I expect this to go like Jodi Arias case. It ain’t a crime until it suddenly is. All red flags are being skipped or neglected, because it’s important to receive subscription money from a client. Unfortunately, Business comes first. And unfortunately, when something happens and I’ll get shanked or something, Blizzard simply will make a sad face and say: “Oh yeah. Not good, we’ll do better”. Except that it won’t make any bit of difference by then.

P.S These are my thoughts that I simply wanted to share. Send them into abyss. I want to thank all these people who whispered me before, showing their support. I truly do appreciate it. And no. I have not given up. But I need to stop and take a rest.

El. Psy. Congroo.

P.P.S - This post is written in one go and mostly on emotions, so there are plenty of grammar mistakes. Do forgive me for such.

Having seen the previous threads, all I can say is good on you for taking care of yourself. I’m happy to hear you haven’t given up despite no tangible action being taken.

And on the off chance your darling stalker does read this, do us all a favour and sod off.

You’re not wanted here.

I am sorry this happens to you. Stuff like this makes me furious, that we as players can’t do more about such creeps other than reporting and excluding them for their bs, other than hoping blizzard will take action.

Stay strong and keep your heads up.

Best wishes for the future. I really hope this gets resolved.

The absolute failure of CS and Support towards this, and similar issues, is just shambolic.

What even is the point of having systems, GMs, logs etc, where you can SEE everything within game, and either are unable or unwilling to do anything about it? Utter disgrace.

I hope things get better for you soon :pensive:

I know from experience that the GMs can read chatlogs and respond to abusive behaviour if they want to so this is just a failure in the hands of the people who are supposed to act against it.

The approach of “stop reporting your abuser or we’ll nail you for abuse” just tells me there’s no intent to ever deal with this.

Perhaps the wildest thing is that when your thread was locked the last time, the moderator who did it specifically said they’d make an exception and look into it… and I guess that was an empty promise? GGWP right there, admin team (or more likely Blizzard themselves for investing in enough staff to deal with these things).

Considering the haughty message they closed the other thread down with, promising they will look into things internally, I was honestly kind of hoping for a decent outcome.

Shameful on Blizzards part.

Stay safe and take care of yourself first and foremost, OP.

They made a ticket on my behalf in which they confirmed stalker’s actions were targeting specific individuals for quite a while. And that they won’t disclose what will be done about it. But as a matter of fact, my stalker continues to do the same things as if nothing was done about it.

The slightest hint of this sort of behaviour terrifies me and I don’t know how you put up with it.

It’s no excuse for the utterly inadequate response so far, but now we can see the results of Acti-Blizz gutting EU customer support first hand. What a disgrace.

I truly hope the promises they made while closing your last thread come to fruition quickly.

In a more reasonable and logical way, when such cases become evident and clear as day, Blizzard that has the tools to see everything, should be able to make a note of such and ideally, report it to the appropriate institutions. Obsessive behavior that extends towards such extremes as holding multiple accounts and writing own custom addon just to supplement to stalkerism ain’t a joke or misunderstanding. It’s a big red flag.

I don’t understand what it takes for Blizzard to send a warning message, saying along the lines of: “We’ve received N amount of reports about your activity that violates our ToS. Seize that or we’ll take harsher actions.”

If the person continues to do so, penalize him. (Which they did, first suspension almost a year and a half ago). He continues. Penalize again for longer period. (Which partially happened again, he got penalized but for the same amount). But if such just keeps happening, ban him permanently. Report this case. And be done about it.

But no. Blizzard is more invested to do smoke and mirrors. Say something about it. Do little about it.

With my last thread that’s been closed, I had a small hope. But no. It just keeps happening and today when I was on a walk, I got DMs that stalker is ‘at it again’.

When it comes to quality of the Blizzard Support, it’s very sporadic. On one hand, I get scripted answers. On other hand, I get contradictive answers. (E.g - Keep reporting such behavior to us vs Keep reporting it and it’ll be considered a GM harassment). Or when GMs reply to me and don’t even double check their responses and there are grammar mistakes.

Which, to me, means that they just hastily reply and move on, considering ticket to be closed & resolved. But all of what I’ve just written above simply clashes against Business. Where is Business, there’s no fair and just. That’d be too naive to assume such. Which is, nevertheless, sad.

P.S - And to humor you additionally. This person, back in a day when I was still talking to him, got jealous over a rescue cat. I picked a 10 year old cat that’s been ditched by the neighbours. And he got jealous because I was ‘caring more for some cat’ rather than him.

im sorry that happened to you OP!

I can say from experience that you are a fantastic person who deserves none of this. Something must indeed be done, and perhaps Blizz’s support team itself needs an investigation from an outside power. I hope everything goes well, and I hope to see you around!

I don’t know if there’s anything I can do to help, and if there is please let me know. In the meantime have a /hug because I know i’d absolutely want one if i was in your shoes.

I think personaly, that if you put someone in your ignore list then the person should be invisible/phased out within the game for the person that has placed on ignore and ignored, battle.net ID included… I think that would “help” in quick action to resolve the situation.

I’m so sorry this is still happening to you OP.

Or, at the very least, /ignore should not only block incoming messages from the person who got ignore. But also outgoing messages from the person who did /ignore.

So that the one who can’t ignored, can’t see their messages either. Of course, it’s not a 100% solution and even with phasing out, it isn’t as the person in question can make new accounts instead.

This thread is being locked - Forums Code of Conduct. I would wholeheartedly encourage you to report the player(s) again via a ticket if they are harassing you again following a previous ticket. Please do include precise dates, times, and names to allow game masters to find all the evidence needed to take actions. Account penalties do increase with each offense, up to account closure. While we cannot provide information on another player’s account, if you have any question concerning our policies, please do include them in your new ticket.
