Final thread before I bow out from WoW Classic experience as sub is running out

Good things first;

Hell of a ride. Started in Vanilla Classic all the way till TBC (had some break here and there) good, healthy raiding life. 10/10 would do it again

And the bad;

Then alliance side died so we had to move elsewhere. And then when I wanted to move my alts into which I put a lot of time and effort leveling, they declared servers locked. More about it here:

Other than that the WoW Classic politics turned into what is being witnessed in Russia. Absolute autocratism. Rampaging bans and mutes of my friends. True to be told if transfers were free which Im pretty sure dont cost Blizz anything, everything would balance out, servers flourishing and hell lot more people have an active subscription.

But yea it is what it is. Luckily Blizz days are numbered, 1 more year or so with WOTLK and they have to come up with something new cuz retail is beyond redemption at this point (it was long time ago in fact) and no one gives a dime about Cata.

Classic experience will be remembered as very positive from gaming/memories made for the second time perspective, unfortunately from dev pov not so much. So have a good one dear well wishers and yea be kind to each other.

Maybe they shouldn’t break the rules?

People said that in 2008.

Also have some very positive memories of Vanilla Classic and TBC Classic. Tbh, just like virtually all games companies now - movies and TV also - they just can’t make new things that are good, creativity without pandering to social justice nonsense seems impossible. No wonder they’re gravitating towards to Classic.

Good luck lad, you wont miss it here nearly as much as you think.

What ever new hobby you decided to try will most likely make you happier than time spent here.

Shame things are so automated now adays, sorry to hear about your friends being muted seems to happen alot, system appears to be wide open to abuse.

Blizz seem to have dropped the ball at some point and never went to pick it back up

You clearfy forgot what Blizz was back in 2008 and what is now. 14 mil subs vs what 1-2 today?

It’s still substantial for a monthly sub game.

Because what Blizz is today is has nothing to do with the dev team that designed and created the game between 2000 and 2008.

Sadly, the same goes for the player base. The ball was dropped both by Blizzard and the players.

dunno, ask investors

Not sure if this is 100% accurate…I suppose if their subscriber levels have dropped so much they will take less interest in the game or its customers. Steady continuous decline through out the years.

I had to put a space between the link to get it to post for some reason

Subs dont matter, money does. They are making much more now.
Pacman was popular in 80s, noone play now. You cant compare thing just like that.

They’re making more off of less than 2 million subs than they were from 12+ million subs at the game’s peak? What?

I don’t think inflation is quite that bad, and I doubt their WoW upkeep-related expenses were 7 times what they are today.

Are you saying the boosts and other stuff are so popular? Mounts?

Sure, but WoW is making a LOT less money now than it was.

Ye man, totally the same thing. :clown_face:

Yes, it is worth much more in money than subs alone.

Speak for yourself! Bomberman too :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Could be they cost several times what a sub does, read around 1 in 20 bought those aweful looking “collector” mounts.

WOW can have serious buy in cost now adays - paying for a boost, paying for a mount, paying for some gold to get you started, buying more gold to get raid items later on…must be a real sink hole for some people.

oh naive child they wouldnt … if transfers were free every player would have moved to some one faction megaserver, economy would be far worse than it is now with constant stream of bots farming on empty servers then moving the “produce” to megaserver etc …

transfers CANNOT be free otherwise they would be abused to hell and back …

If only players weren’t so selfish and voted with their wallet instead. Anyone who uses real life money in vanity item shops in any game, or buys expensive lacklustre DLC, or season passes etc are the worst.

Would interject here that I don’t give a hoot about this as it doesn’t affect me in any way that some random guy is riding around on a weird phase hunter looking mount.

The boosts are worse than the cosmetics. For all I care, sell cosmetics cause they’re just that, cosmetics.

…what? You think boosts and other stuff is worth more than EVERYONE who plays paying a guaranteed sub fee every month? Mounts etc aren’t as popular as you think.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. We’re speaking of potentially 8-10 million subs per month in money here.
