After a long time of painful tryharding, I can finally dish out good dps in M+. The rework made such a difference. And it’s so much easier to get into groups.
Even PvP is fun.

Likely laying off of most of the staff and farming out support to people that keep saying “nothing I can do”
For me frost is the winner. Maybe fire was broken as F*** first week with the evoker+PI combo, but frost is more fun. Finally it’s not all icy lance spam, but actually, if someone wants to use it like before still can, the option is still there with more aoe, not like fire where the old ignire spread build was completely killed.
Frost mage is still not difficult, I think, but you have to pay attention to more things than before. But it’s also relative who finds what difficult? I met a mage who was not aware of the shatte capel, or the winter’s chill after Flurry, I surprised by it, since he had a high RIO with his main character, after that, how many people can there be who are not aware of basic things too, especially those who haven’t done serious content with other characters.
What spec are u talking about? Arcane is pretty cool rn imo

Trying this myself in some casual PvP. Pretty fun, actually.
Was waiting for mage to be fun again since panda, now I can enjoy the game again😊

Finally, we can compete for the top 1 total dps place. All three specs seem to be strong at the moment.

With new orbs rn Arcane is super fun. The mass barrier is very useful as a group defensive utility.
i mean, mage is doing well, but i wouldn’t call it broken, at least not for my experience so far.
I never said it’s broken - but I finally can top dps in a full M+ run which was impossible before the rework. I can top dps in raid on ST too… It’s just better and more fun.
Wonder if MoP fire mage will ever be topped? My bet is on no, especially for pvp.
Fire mage should get a pet… or say familiar. A friendly fire.

There are a lot of noob mages, i just started to gear up my tank druid, and with a tank i can chose who i take, and thanks to the FotM position there are a lot of clumsy ones. So mage is fun and powerful, but now there are a plenty who just rerolled to mage cuz of the meta.
But this augment evoker is just broken, it become a fix pick to any groups.
I mean, if I see a mage applying, I’ll check RIO history to see what to expect, but if it’s an aug evoker, it’s almost certainly broken, even a clumsy one. Currently if you are a 440+ augment evoker with sensible RIO, then you will be invited to +20-21 keys before anything else.
I don’t remember any class being in such an advantageous position before, obviously the current meta classes have always been invited first, but what is happening now around the aug evoker is a bit excessive.
