A long time ago, (many expansions ago, but forgot wich one), I had an addon. It recorded every single item than anyone in the game had possessed while I was logged in at the same time as them. I could search on all these items and see their stats and such, and I looted them, I could see their prices for both AH and vendor price. Useful for when deciding wich greys you are picking up and wich one to leave. But mostly the option to search and look for any item in the game.
Does anyone know, what addon I’m talking about and if that addon is still around and if it’s updated for TBC classic?
Well you could always use atlasloot for items and vendor price to check the value of items you want to sell.
Or atlasloot + auctionator which shows vendor/disenchant/auction value in the tooltip
It may be worth noting that it is no longer a requirement for someone possessing an item, or an instance ID where the item will drop to exist, for it to be possible to look up an item. (As a result it will not be possible to fish for black temple IDs which drops glaives this time around.)
Atlasloot is decent for checking what items bosses can drop, reputation/pvp rewards, crafted gear etc, but unless I am mistaken the search functionality isn’t as good as it once was, and it doesn’t include world drops. We could be thinking about another addon though?
As for vendor prices, there are plenty of addons offering that option. It is often built into economy/AH addons such as auctionator and TradeSkillMaster. They usually come with a lot of other features that you may not be interested in though.
