Hello! (not sure if this is the right place)
Does anybody use laptops to play WoW? Or used to have one to play that worked well?
I am looking for a laptop that can run WoW at at least 60 FPS dont mind minimum graphics with budget 400£ in UK.
I have looked google but many infos is contradicted, asked friends too not much answer. So it got me confused very much. (i dont understand much about computers)
One thing I was told is to avoid Dell.
Note: Don’t mind second hand laptop too but I cannot drive. Just one that will work to run WoW and not break too soon.
Any help is appreciated.
UPDATE: Help found thank you. Quoting the answer here too for anybody looking for laptops to play WoW.
I can vouch for Lenovo Legion 5. Really nice laptops that you can’t go wrong with imo. I got mine for more than double your budget though. Last years’ models could be still on sale Either way from my extensive experience I’d get a gaming laptop, you don’t want thermal throttling that you will most likely get with regular laptops due to their construction.
No they can’t I have a HP Pavilion laptop thats about 6 years old, but it was a dedicated game laptop at the time. I have an Nvidia GTX960M, and I am beginning to experience some glitches at medium to high settings.
WoW is a CPU heavy game as well, so combine that with only having an integrated Graphics card
At the budget you are aiming for, you won’t even get a dedicated Graphics Card, so I’d be surprised if Wow would function at all.
Dang, that sounds like a big bummer
What is the minimum budget then for a laptop that can run WoW then? I dont want any super gaming laptops, its something for me to only use sometimes.
Cheapest option with a dedicated graphics card, at the moment cheapest on Amazon that i would go for is at about approx £600 - £700 but thats me, just look for a dedicated graphic card and not integrated one.
If you can run a tripple A game, you’re fine, but otherwise, I would start worrying, since they upgraded their requirements alot. Probably a blessing to not be able to play
MSI - terrible hardware quality, screen fell off after 1 year (LOL)
Acer predator - expensive and has ram and memory errors all over. Service tell you it is windows problem
but also feels like integrated graphics are not great to run the game, but they actually can. UHD 9XX or something worked on my small spare laptop. But big bgs and raids will let your frames drop to 5 fps maybe
My last 2 laptops have been MSI’s. The first one lasted 4 years and was still going strong but I upgraded it. The second is about 18 months old and still running perfectly.
If a screen “falls off” it may not be the build quality…
what else should it be? you open the cover and one hinge falls off.
Laptop wasn’t even used for travelling and was standing at one spot for 99% of the time only opening and closing the lid.
anyways, that was my experience with MSI laptops and obviously there is a good chance that not all laptops from MSI are trash.
So I can only share MY experiences, what you do with it, is up to you of course
e.g. I can also share that I own 2 Razer black widow elite keyboards and on both the sound volume button as issues (it sometimes adjusts the volume just by itself without ever coming near the button.) Rarely even used that button, let alone smashed it or anything.
Don’t expect cheap potatoes to be capable of running World of Warcraft. I hope you Heibei can invest in a mid-range laptop with plenty of storage and dedicated GPU.
I do not have any experience with laptop pricing, but from what I could see you will have to expect 1000+ Euro for something decent with AMD Ryzen 5 / 7 or Intel i5 / i7 and Geforce RTX 3060. Don’t be afraid if you see Radeon RX 6000-series GPUs instead as they are also capable.
AMD is usually better at battery life (who’s gaming while not plugged?) while Intel is better at uselessly high FPS, both CPU brands are very capable of running games.
a decent laptop these days starts with 1800 euro atleast with nvidia 3060 gpu and this year most laptops have put a stupid 240 hz or 300 hz screen in them so prices have already crossed 2000 euros for them .
