How does one today finds a guild ? With all crossrealm and guild finder tool being a joke how do you do it ?
Try realm specific forums, ask around on your realm in trade (aware that means actually conversing with players) but they xan give you an idea on which guilds are best.
Use guild finder, make a note of somd guilds on there that interests you, do a /who with that guild and ask members.
Realm specific forums
Wowprogress
Raider IO Recruitment
Warcraftlogs Recruitment
Some realms have their own discord/sub reddits too
Pretty much this. I tend to look at WoWprogress in the first instance and then go from there. In all honesty, guilds are dying these days…communities seems to be the more favoured approach because they can operate cross-realm and cross-faction but they can be hard to navigate because you become a face-in-the-crowd.
I’m in a facebook group where guilds make a few recruitment posts.
And of course, friends too can be asked if they have a good community (if not a guild or alongside a guild) one can join
Works out pretty badly for sure. Finding any guild is easy but finding THE guild (i.e. one where you would hope to cooperate with people on anything) with that in-game search tool is kinda hit and miss.
