On wowhead it says the stat prio is Mastery > Haste > Versa > Crit. I'm not quite sure why Crit is now at the bottom of the list. Is getting Pyroblast! procs no longer the main source of damage? I mean I cast Greater Pyro a lot, but when on the move I'm still trying to get Pyroblast! procs for damage, so outside of Combustion, I would have thought Crit is still fairly important, no?

It is, but you dont get the procs with crit stat, you get them from guaranteed crits from phoenix flames, fire blast, with fireballs when the stack goes high enough, with firestarter/ searing touch and during combustion.
Crit should not be on the bottom of the list, but has been ever since they nerfed critical mass to the ground at the start of legion.

Yes I know you use guaranteed crits to convert your Heating Up procs to Pyroblast! procs, but the more Crit you have, the higher your chance to get Heating Up procs, no?

I would have thought the nerfing of Critical Mass would make Crit more important, if anything, not less.
Stack Haste. You're a Polymorph bot in this game. Faster sheeps, faster GPYros. You're doing damage, when you have Combustion up, so you don't need crit.
Fire mage's meant to play the burst game, when you got combustion up. You don't need crit for this, as you already get 100% crit from combustion itself.

Ok thanks. I should clarify that I'm talking about random bgs here. Would the same advice still hold there, or could Crit be more useful in that environment?
but the more Crit you have, the higher your chance to get Heating Up procs, no?
of course, but not so much that it outshines the other stats.

So giving us a flat 15% more crit and nerfing the crit multiplier from gear from 1.4 to 1.1 makes crit more important?
quite the opposite my friend.

Having thought about it, I don't even know what Critical Mass was before the nerf. What did it do at that time? It just multipled Crit from gear by 1.4 with no flat % increase?

i believe it was 1.4 times multiplier to crit from gear but i cant remember if it gave any flat crit %, if it did it was no more than 5%.

Still haste. Crit is worthless.

It's strange. I know people say that Noxxic is wrong, but they claim that something like 79% of the top PvPers stack Crit. Are they mistaken there?

Top pvp-ers stack haste too. :P For example:
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/tichondrius/Xaryu
Stack haste with versa or mastery as the secondary, at least if you're running Blaster Master traits. Crits are nice but most of your damage with blaster master comes from Meteor and Pyroblast procs and the ignite that follows.
Haste will always be the top priority for any caster in PvP thanks to faster casts and gcd's.
If you don't have those traits available then you can stack other damage increasing traits, like Firemind or go heavy on the haste build-up through Flames of Alacrity. The thing, as already pointed out, is that Fire hasn't relied as much on crit after it got reworked to make the spec more reliable. For that reason you're often better off taking flat damage increasing secondaries like versa and mastery.
Never trust pages like Noxxic, IcyVeins and the likes when it comes to anything PvP related. They may be right on with PvE stat weights and rotations but a lot of that can be different in PvP, or they base it on what the writer might find fun in BG's and lower rated PvP.
Look up armory pages for some of the top PvP'ers and see what they're aiming for or look up their streams for some tips.
