Since allowing everyone to transfer here for free and with Gehennas Alliance dying pretty much the server is massively busy, which is a good thing. However the Auction house is un-usable right now… we went from 50k to 100k items and it takes 3 minutes to scan for an item. Please look into this.

Didn’t Blizzard set it so you cannot scan it many times in a short space of time? So blame your addon.
My search I have just done took a couple of seconds at most. Less than a second on the Alliance side.
Not scanning it many times just the once… taking 3 minutes. Also taking forever to buy thinks sometimes under or over buying… Theres a definite issues others are reporting the same.
So you don’t mean scan for an item you mean scan the whole AH. Why didn’t you say so?
Yes, that will take a while for 100k items.
No before it was 50,000 items and took 20 seconds, its now taking 3 minutes to do a scan. The whole ah is laggy even when searching for an item or just buying 1 item.
the A:H ratio is beginning to tilt on Firemaw too in Alliance direction (though both sides have massive amount of players). Why did this happen to Gehennas? It had such a healthy population. It seems like if one side start to tilt, one side “dies”. Could this happen to Firemaw too?
dont think so, i think firemaw will be the final go to place for everyone.

Not for me, when I posted I did a search for “hat” and it took less than a second on both sides, it’s not the game or latency causing your problem. 94k on Alliance and 100k on horde at the time.
Imo, Firemaw PvE Alliance guilds have nowhere to go to recruit, so they will probably stay and Alliance can only get bigger with refugees from “dead” servers.
Horde PvE guilds have an option to transfer to Gehenas if things get too rough wpvp wise and how aggressive Alliance players are.
Firemaw has a chance to remain balanced, but with wotlk coming, chance will be lower and lower.
I went there. Seems like today its either this overcrowded server or total dead ones. Miss the old days when you could actually find servers with a balanced population.
You can not scan for items with blizzard UI. Unless you mean looking up a specific item. If you are using addons it is not a problem on Blizzards end.
Don’t worry about that for now, lot of Horde is going to transfert Alliance in WOTLK so you are going to get strong reinforcement with tons of high rated pvp player, and every friends and guilds that are going to follow them.
In my opinion WOTLK is going to be way better than TBC and Vanilla due to large racial changes and the ability to swap faction with your credit card, Firemaw is not gonna die before a very long time because it is the defacto standard EU server now, like Gehennas was in Classic Vanilla. All Horde and Alliance want to go here because it is the safest and healthiest place to be in EU.
For now, I stick with my own langage server but Firemaw is in my head if something goes wrong.
Also it’s fun to see that in SOM, Alliance dominate all realm … Horde without world buff is tough in raids and the lack of healers Horde side (no Dwarf Priest, no Paladin) make battlegrounds very annoying in pugs.
AH is so laggy in the evening I’ve started doing all my business in the morning.

Blizz so bad at managing servers, it’s a joke. Hope MS does a better job.

Payed faction change is what started all this pathetic mess.
Actually no, payed server transfers started it. Faction change was just the final nail in the coffin.
SO bad right now… end up buying 0 - 1 or 20 of an item…
It wont change anything, everyone play horde because of their family, friends, dogs play horde. Remember?
