Yes another post about Firemaw.
Why is it still locked? No que at all.

Why is it still locked? No que at all.
I have two possible explanations
The two interns working on Classic have other duties and completely forgot about server situation and locks.
Firemaw is without queue, true, however Blizzard might be feared or estimated that after unlocking a megaserver, it wouldn’t stay without queues.
But honestly, the possibility 2) is just my naivity, of course they forgot hence possibility 1).
Amd I strongly think that they should remove all locks at once, not selectively.
Just imagine what would happen to Mograine, Gehennas and Golemagg if only Golemagg was unlocked for transfers.
Hope they keep it locked forever, already enough bots ruining everything.
@Scryers, @Bafago: Firemaw did have a queue yesterday. Granted, a very small one of only a few hundred people, which did not last long, but it is still close to the limit.
I have to disagree with this. Gehennas had a queue of more than 2 900 yesterday. Delaying unlocks on other realms until Gehennas drops to no queue is probably a really bad idea.
@All: It does have some risks, but I think Blizzard should unlock Thekal and Golemagg as soon as possible and carefully consider unlocking Firemaw as well. Gehennas, on the other hand, probably should stay locked for a while longer…
I am not sure about this.
If they REALLY do not want mega realms anymore, they will have to leave the realms locked for a longer time.
Otherwise everyone would move there and just waiting until there are no queues anymore won´t decrease the player count in a way that there wouldn´t be new queues soon again…
Thekal on the other hand seems to have had a big player drop, i don´t understand why it´s not unlocked again. It has a smaller population now then Lakeshire, which is still target for FCT.
This makes really no sense
People would just go back to firemaw/gehennas again and live with 1-2 hour queues in off-months then come here when patches release and complain about 6 hour queues.
That’s the same on every full server at the moment. Same people botting every night, reporting does nothing…
On one hand yes. On the other, we all know what FCMs and Locks cause - mass hysteria. If they unlock Golemagg but no Gehennas, Gehennasians will have motivation to move in masses there just swapping the situation on servers. You could say that people won’t use paid transfers but TBC history has proven otherwise.
Just imagine unlocking Golemagg but no Gehennas. An average Gehennasian has been through massive 13000 queues and never want to happen again. We have also seen that Golemagg had half of the Gehennas queue at most.
We also can’t bring friends whereas on Golemagg we could in case of server unlock.
We also can’t bring alts from other servers, whereas on Golemagg we could in case of server unlock.
Your average Gehennasian will think to himself “too many advantages to not move, it’s a horde megaserver too after all”.
Blizzard and many players can’t think out the box and underestimate player fear which has proven to be a huge mistake in the past.
If I was selfish, I would be happy for that. Gehennas would have smaller queues on content releases and Golemagg would take the burden. But I am not and want to warn before this happens.
Unlock it and there will be queue again.
So nah, keep it locked forever please
@Bafago: Actually, my line of thinking is based on the fear theory, too, “the fear of “dead” realms” theory. I am hoping Gehennas stays locked a little bit longer in order to reduce rushing TO Gehennas, not away from it. People do not like moving, but they will under certain circumstances. Basically, my thinking is that those, who choose to move should pick destinations other than Gehennas and hopefully, when Gehennas is unlocked, most of the incoming traffic would be alts of players, who are “old” Gehennas mains, which would have no negative effect on Gehennas queue.
Or in other words, I am hoping to create a situation, where there are people on multiple realms, not a bloating Gehennas + everyone else shrinking situation on a longer time scale.
