First Character Logged On Still Lagging Since Patch Day

so this is odd, but I know im not the only person with the problem but I cant seem to see a ticket open about it

So the first character I logged on with on Patch Day was my Demon Hunter. My friend also logged her Druid on as her first character. both characters were stuttering every so often. No particular pattern except it seems to happen when moving the character around (not when standing still).

However

Logging onto another character (so im my case I logged on my druid, and ym friend logged onto her Demon Hunter) there is zero issues.

So the issue im describing appears to only impact our first characters we logged on with. So my guess is some sort of cache issue.

The problem is NOT out of date addons before someone suggests. The issue still happens without any addons loaded.

does anyone have any suggestions how to resolve this perculiar issue? Is it a cache issue, if so how to reset it?

Hi! Switching back to Directx11 legacy helped out some people, its worth a shot!

You mentioned that it still happens without addons loaded, does that mean that you disabled them, or removed them entirely? They are two very different troubleshooting steps

If you only disabled them, then I’d recommend going for a complete removal, as issues that impact only one character pretty much always come down to a file misbehaving - https://battle.net/support/en/article/7549
