I just did the “bigger fish to fry” achivement but all the guides i read are pre bfa so they all say that fishing skill 800 is required, what is required now in bfa to fish up the pearl?
Incorrect 100 Legion Fishin is enough - got my Underlight Angler during 8.0 still dont have Cataclysm and Outland fishing maxed out.
Also it’s artifact powers are still there because it’'s profession item, there is small nerf though it’s no longer give swim speed and underwater breathing during combat (before you could use it as escape route even on BG).

Can confirm, all you need is Legion fishing skill, you don’t need the other ones.

Sorry to tell you this but you couldnt be more wrong, i just got it, and a helpful druid explained everything:
You only need Legion fishing maxed out
You can still get its traits by throwing back rare fish which gives you 50 artifact power
sadly the benefit of having it post legion has been wiped out by the devs , the swim speed while under attack had been diminished drastically as has the actual swim speed , this was an MVP for none pvpers who wanted to get away b4 being team ganked in WM no its just rubbish
