OP is seeing someone mindlessly fishing, and let’s face it how do you fish in game? I press A wait for the splash click the bonnet get my fish rinse repeat. I can read a book whilst doing that. He goes up to them and /spits at them then calls them a bot because they ignored him. I’d click ignore on someone who /spit on me out of nowhere too because 1) it’s (explicit language removed) rude 2) completely unnecessary.

There is no evidence of bots from his description unless he sits for a full 24 hrs straight and watches them and times each cast for proof.

No, I will certainly not be closer by equating a game emote to a person spitting on other.

Although that wouldnt be my approach, my /spit is reserved for my pvp shennanigans, sometimes I might engage who I suspect can be a bot with a “Hey bro how are they bitting today?” or something.
I’m ignored while the fishing resumes? That’s totally cool, I dont expect to everyone engage with me but at that point I have no more ways to determine if it’s a bot and I pass the torch to the hacks team.

Legit players have no worries of being reported.

So someone doesn’t watch the chat window, I’m 100% guilty of that when doing anything in game not just fishing, for instance I was once emptying trash out of my bags outside upper black rock spire entrance and someone said hi to me and I didn’t notice until I turned around and walked into the dungeon, it makes them a bot?

Like others have pointed out (sooooo many times) people won’t be paying attention whilst fishing it doesn’t make them a bot.

However you reporting people for little evidence makes you a troll in my book so imma report you for trolling just in case you are a troll yeah yeah?

Now your just being silly why would someone suspect a character just standing anywhere would be a bot?

We as players can only report on our suspicions. Hacks team are much better at checking the evidence and they certainly appreciate our effort unless it’s some streamer who goes “I dont like this guy name, everyone report this guy” for example

Why are you all attacking Ret? He is simply pointing out what he observed… If he reported you for being a bot, Blizz will investigate (prob not ) and will move on if you are not a bot. If the reported char is a bot or you use bots then you are screwed

My example was to show that not everyone watches the chat screen religiously so wouldn’t see your hi or your /spit but itdoesnt make them a bot just like you reporting people for not replying to you when they are fishing doesn’t make you a troll.
