Fishing Feedback: Plenty of Fish... and a Few Issues

Hi Blizzard team,

So, I’ve been fishing (quite a lot, probably more than is healthy), and reached 470 skill, with around 500 perception when all buffs are in play. There are some issues:

  • Grey items: Even with high skill, I still fish up a significant amount of grey items in places like Hallowfall and Azj-Kahet. Is this intended?
  • Perception mystery: AFAIK there’s no way to see our total perception applied to fishing. Does Phial of Truesight even count?
  • Cursed Ghoulfish, Part 1: I get that these are supposed to be annoying, but undestroyable + stacks of 5? Even turning them into Prepared Ghoulfish is tedious because of the multiple stacks.
  • Cursed Ghoulfish, Part 2: What’s the actual downside of the curse? Most of the time I don’t notice any difference, but sometimes in Isle of Dorn I only get grey items. What’s going on here?
  • Regal Dottyback confusion: The tooltip mentions “Corrupted Ghoulfish” instead of “Cursed Ghoulfish.” They would be amazing if they offered some Ghoulfish protection, but sadly, they don’t.
  • Sitting loophole: sitting while fishing prevents the curse (thank god), but it also blocks beneficial buffs like “Goldengill Blessing.” Can we fix that so we don’t have to choose between fishing comfortably or being cursed?
  • Regal Dottyback buff: The tooltip says the buff lasts 10 minutes, but it’s really 5 minutes.
  • Crafted lures: After catching one of the lured fish, the lure buff disappears. Is this working as intended?
  • Bloody Perch & Whispering Stargazer: It takes 10 of these to catch a single fish, and the lure buff vanishes after one catch. That seems like a lot of effort for little reward, especially since the market for them isn’t exactly booming.
  • Infused Ichor spill: Still trying to figure out what these are for. At higher skill levels, I’m mostly getting Pale Huskfish. Not sure if they’re worth it, given we only get one cast per spill.
