Is it bugged? Im stuck at 88/150 It doesn’t matter where I fish, im also noticing that some pools only give up 3 fish before disappearing. Anyone else finding this?

Are you talking about Kul Tiras Fishing? Then you must be fishing in Kul Tiras or Zandalar.
You don’t get a skill-up every cast. As you skill higher, it takes more casts for each skill point. From wow-professions dot com
If you start from BfA Fishing skill 1, you need to catch around 250 Fish to reach 150, which takes around 2 hours.
And as for pools, sadly, yes: you get at least 3 fish per pool, but not a vast amount more. There was a time when pools were not central to fishing, but the waters are entirely polluted with them now. However, for the purpose of skilling up Fishing, it doesn’t matter whether you are fishing in a pool or not. It affacts what you catch, but not your skill-up.

Only 250? I remember it as a lot more. Fishing is very RNG and sometimes you have to do 10 catches for a single point.

I have the fishing hat, the legendary fishing pole with the enchant and the fishing spear and I also used lures, so that’s was about +41 and it took me just under 2 hours to cap.
So I don’t think it’s a bug, just more difficult to skill up without these things.

Yeah, I don’t know myself. I gave up on Fishing about the same time El did, back in Mists, but I find that site reliable for profession info.

In vanilla it took about a week to go from 1-300.
Today it’s done in an afternoon.

Thanks guys for your input. I came into BfA with max fishing, Im fishing with my ledgendary fishing pole and at various locations between Kul Tiras and Zandalar. I guess its just a case of slowly fishing and grinding my skill up. It just seems a lot slower in BfA, it was such a difference to me that I thought it was bugged lol.

i can honestly say i got to max fishing in 2 hours or so by fishing at the port lol.
I haven’t found it beneficial at all to chase pools this expansion, BFA fishing isnt challenging at all and i seem to catch midnight salom from anywhere and anytime. maybe im lucky lol.

I went for this method and I got the fishable mount too. I think they’ve nerfed the drop somewhat now though.

I just sat in the pond above the tradesmen and fished, I did it in about an hour for BfA fishing max.
I don’t think I even used a rod.

1834 swings at the harbour in Dazar’alor so far according to the Fishing buddy addon and still no mount. I started after the nerf. 
Oh dear, I heard they’d hit the drop rate hard.

Really?? I have to say that’s pretty good , probably a large element of luck , even so luck in any form game or real life is still good :-)
