i feel embarrassed for the person who came up with this class design
It was fine when it was a CD in Legion. Then PvE players wanted it also for themselves so it became a normal talent and got tuned for the raid environment and became irrelevant for PvP for two expansions.
In DF it came back because you can play all defensive options + the legendary for Fistweaving as a talent. Caster Mistweaver lacks any option for contribution becides Sphere and 5% physical buff. Unfortunately whole game design suffers due to M+ design. All healers are expected to do damage there. You need a lot of CC to handle packs and a every spec needs to be mobile to finish runs in time. Because of this things like precog have to exist because otherwise many specs would be unplayable.
I got Cata beta last month and after reading all the talents I see how much more reasonable old talents were. Now everything is over the top. Blizzard devs said that in their eyes in MoP they reached the point where there was nothing to be added to the game. I feel like MoP wasnât as bad as the current state of the game. Specs are truely overloaded with mobility, micro CC, offensive and defensive CDs and overall modifiers. Outlaw Rogue is unplayable without bunch of weak auras and Hero talents are going even deeper into this direction.
Things like Bladestorm and AMS procs should never be in the game but Iâm pretty sure they will get a positive feedback from M+ communities and go live. Also even if Hero talents will stay after. What then? What are you going to add Midnight or the Last Titan. In my opinion all talent trees need a review and some rework in terms of merging some of them and other needs more choice nods. Like Storm Bolt/Shockwave or Fel Erruption/Chaos Nova. Some of Warlock/Elemental/Mage tools should also get reduced and be a choice option. Otherwise every class would feel like early 90s shooter game main character with 10 different rifles on his back to swap between. Or like Volkswagen Beetle with tanks cannon on top of it.
Itâs such a derp spec.
Almost every game when im with my hunter, I have to Stand on 10% for the entire time while the Turtle is up. Its caotic when I can get a heal, most of the times I dont get.
Its really annoying how its works, and I really hate it when fw in my team.
Firstweaving should require way more effort and thoughtput behind it, and should involve a mix of some hardcasts in between
You never played Legion if you think fistweaving (way of the crane) was ok back then.
Legion fw was hands down 10 times worse then it is now. Monks were immune to stuns and slows during the duration.
It was the birth of tanks + fw being r1 viable also r1 ladder. Full ladder infested with all tank specs + fw. Fw turbo pressing 2 buttons + W (entire legion spellbook).
It ruined arena back then and it ruins it yet again. But legion was far worse. I lowkey think the BFA casting monk with 45sec coccon was the best version of mw monk in recent times.
It get nerfed at some point, also it wasnât worst than now, pressing crane used to delete 1/4 of your mana bar Instant iirc so you had to use it correctly and not randomly.
Also it had no 24/7 duration (but yeah the first crane build was disgusting with immunity to cc).
(oh and the monk had no kick iirc but not 100% sure, anyone can confirm or not feel free)
I am pretty sure it was disgusting and broken even at the end cause it was last season of legion where blood dk was r1 ladder with all other tank specs following up. They all qd with fw monk.
I donât remember that but tbh itâs a long time ago, not saying crane wasnât broken still after the nerf but there was an actual penalty with mana and you were not immune to cc at some point.
I only remember loony playing this in awc as melee cleave mostly.
It is really bad when you get a FW who canât/wonât play regular MW as a ranged who needs to kite.
Cos of stat increase and some set bonuses ect. next season, Im not sure is it nerf or not for FW. We shall see.
