Fix balance = remove eclipse

If there is anyone, at ALL that disagree please say so.
Ive played balance since tbc and im tired of eclipse changing it doesnt fit the game anymore, anywhere.

This will also sort out alot of the problems with the spec atm.
For the love of warcraft put eclipse to rest.

Only way I see Eclipse working is if it is a toggle that you do at will. Either instant cast or super fast like 0,5 sec cast to switch to the opposite state. It would add a gameplay element and you could have talents to specialize in either Eclipse more or give different bonuses or whatever, but it would have to be something where you can always choose which one you want to be in and I think the Eclipse state should be permanent. So you activate Solar Eclipse and stay in Solar Eclipse until you activate Lunar Eclipse. That way it becomes basically baseline to have the “bonuses” but with a gameplay element and you don’t have it all at the same time

I really liked the Legion version of balance druid. this one just feels bad and eclipse is just not fun…

Levelled my Druid first but once I was at 70 I just couldn’t stomach balance anymore. Have switched to my Shadow Priest now and enjoying the levelling experience a lot more.

I genuinely think they are trying to kill the spec.
It gets worse with each expansion.

Im regretting coming back to the game, a spec I have loved since Burning Crusade has just been constantly ruined and deliberately over complicated, and its not even a topo performing dps spec, you’re lucky if its middle of the pack.

Meanwhile some classes you just hammer the same two keys and are top of the charts.

Ive decided to leave my balance spec for the first time since tbc, and i bet i wont be alone.

Because of the eclipse mechanic with the other changes to the spec (i see those as good changes but eclipse mechanic ruins it). The spec is more and more a chore to play. on a 8 mob pack u need 7 globals before u can start doing dmg and thats only sunfire moonfire and wrath

There is 1 change to temp fix the spec abit and that is to make starfire start lunar eclipse and wrath start solar eclipse. This make the eclipse less of a chore and more a thing that “hapens” and u can start aoe dmg abit faster

Removing eclipse is abit more work since the set and talents depend on it

Played boomie since wrath, and currently eclipse just feels terrible. I cant even stomach 1 hc dungeon, just feels so slow and tedious to play. I levelled as guardian as I couldn’t stomach the pain of levelling again as a caster druid. It wasn’t exactly fun the previous expansions.

The whole spec needs gutting and rebuilding, and not just eclipse.

What I hate the most about Balance rn is the absolutely horrendous Mastery.

You need both dots up and running before you can even think of pressing a meaningful Starsurge.

Who the hell thought this was a good idea for a spec that is all about pooling their resource to pump it out instantly?

Leveled up my druid recently and I feel you brother

Our mastery and eclipse system are awful. Too many GCDs have to be pressed to deal some damage that is not either competitive. ST rotation is OK, but AOE…I wish we can get rid of this mastery and eclipse system. Also starsurge feels so weak both pvp and pve. I hate to feel that we are dot class now. The only hard hitter is full moon that is not reliable at all, especially in PVP

Too much dmg in dots and using spenders is simply too uneventful for how little damage they do. Buildup takes too long and it isn’t very bursty for time investment. I won’t go into scaling, but mechanically it is horrible.

Circle of life and death is a big offender and it reminds me of the latent poison problem survival hunters had in BFA. Make it so it doesn’t reduce the duration of dots, but rather increase frequency of damage ticks. That quarter of the uptime would do buy ample time to allow more regular casting and make moonkin feel better more enjoyable.

Starsurge is too expensive and Starfall gets overshadowed by Moonfire damage in dungeons (unless giga pulling) which is kind of dumb, considering we are now allowed to overlap several casts at once. What made everyone happy at first feels like a significant downgrade to being allowed casting while moving provided by stellar drift.

Wouldn’t want damage buffs right away, but I would like an increase to the astral power resource pool, so you might even have a chance to end a dungeon pull with Starfall ready for casting right away for the upcoming group, instead of having to repeat the whole 15 second DOT DOT DOT, eclipse followed by a spender cycle.
