It’s week 5 and pvp already feels like it’s the last patch of an expansion rather than the first. The community is crying out loud for MMR fixes on 3s and shuffle, even wow’s own AWC caster (venruki) is tweeting about this almost every single day, but is completely neglected, as if the PVP devs are literally on a permanent vacation.
It’s beyond comprehension that this game is losing thousands of pvpers every day (and sub money respectively) because of the inability and impotence of devs making an easy fix to mmr. It is a complete joke to me that this season has LESS participation than DF s4, THE EPILOGUE PATCH.
You can clearly tell the developers don’t know what’s going on in PVP, especially when you look at the recent pvp class tunings. Shadow priest got a gigantic pve buff, that developers let carry over to pvp (sp was already growing in popularity and is already one of the top 3 shuffle specs, and very popular in 3s too the past 2 weeks). Feral, which is literally parsing 100s in arena and blitz, casually doubling people’s damage, and literally doing over a million dps on teamfights in blitz, SOMEHOW dodged a nerf.
My biggest question is, how is deva evoker still running around on a permanent freedom? This is flying under the radar as melees are not that popular at the moment, but this terrible spec design is a monster for pvp. Devastation is mediocre facing all the meta specs atm, but is completely skilling on all of the melees (which are currently unpopular)
PS: Don’t tell me that blizzard doesn’t care because they aren’t making enough money from pvp. If you assume there as just 400k pvp players NA/EU (which is conservative), they are making over 50m a year from sub fees. If you add tokens purchased for people to enchant and fix their gear, the number is even higher. Trust me, the resources put into pvp are nothing compared to the revenue they have from it.
