Fix nameplates... they've been broken since 7.2

I wish to bring to Blizzard’s attention (I don’t seek any kind of reaction) that Friendly Nameplates have been disabled since 7.2, which, as you can see in the following old screenshots from back in the days of Antorus, is getting a bit ridiculous.

For context:

Yes, I know that this is by design, but disabling friendly nameplates has as far as I can see always been a temporary fix, a workaround. In my opinion, it’s time some dev implemented an actual fix for the reason(s) why they were disabled.

The boss has a nice nameplate, but the whole raid doesn’t.
A few more examples of silly nameplates, just to make it clear:

As you can see, these bosses in the Mogushan raid have their nameplate nicely shown. Five seconds later:

You kill them, and suddenly, the UI isn’t capable of showing decent nameplates anymore, it’s just the old ugly nameplates.

Or how ridiculous is this:

The basegame allows my ElvUI to give this “Duskwatch Guard” a proper nameplate, but not this “Dusk Lily Agent”?

Oh, and if you thought it was just limited to friendly nameplates…

These guys with their blue nameplates are of the opposite faction.
Also, the trainers in the right corner of the screen? Yeah blizzard can’t display them properly either. You go outside of Dalaran to any friendly character/npc and it’ll display properly…

Since 7.2, nothing has been changed or improved.
Instead, things have only gotten weirder. Like, why are friendly nameplates not being shown properly in dungeons, but they are in island expeditions? What’s the logic behind this difference?

The point of this post is just simply only to bring this to Blizzard’s attention, because it simply… irks me, to say the least. It irks me, because in my opinion, this is one of those things that is easily fixable by putting (one analyst and) one dev with half a brain on it, and yet this hasn’t happened since 7.2, an entire expansion ago, when your solution was to simply “workaround it” and simply disable friendly nameplates…

It’s just one of those things that can be a quick fix. Oh and blizzard, just a tip: if and when you do fix it, be sure to communicate it… don’t let it end up in Wowhead’s list of undocumented changes in some future patch…

May I ask why the raid even needs one in that screen? It’s unnecessary information as raid Frames exist to keep track of friendlies.

Dead things don’t have nameplates and never have done. There’s no point in cluttering the UI with plates that aren’t needed. What you’re seeing is just their names, not namplates, which can be modified by changing the fonts only.

Why does it need one? It won’t ever be in combat with anything. I don’t use friendly nameplates as to me they serve 0 uses (apart from maybe Arena which I don’t do?) but aren’t these all a bit nitpicky? Surely to the people who do actually use them, they only need them for players?

They probably have bigger priorities. I’ve been on these forums a lot and this is the first time in forever I’ve seen someone mention friendly nameplates.

I find this problem very annoying for playing a healer in PvP. In PvE the party and raid frames are good enough, because you know people will be in range most of the time. But in PvP, I find it easier to heal well based on the team-mates I have in sight, and I’d like to see their name-plate health-bars in the same style as NPCs and enemy players.
