Using Mind Control to have a Scarshield Spellbinder buff your party with “Resist Fire” is not considered to be an exploitation of game mechanics, but rather the clever use of an “easter egg” of sorts deliberately implemented by our developers. My guild does it all the time before we take on Ragnaros. Buff to your heart’s content.

This was actually part of the tactics in original MC - and was not abuse, but dev.planned and added buff we can use.

So according to you , people should NEVER craft Fire Resistance Gear, and instead Mind Control the NPC in UBRS , pick the Buff and kill Raid Bosses? .

Great idea , let remove Fire Resistance Gear from it’s existence , who cares about Thorium Brotherhood Reputation and why it is there at first!

What’s next , Frost Resistance Buff from another NPC , clear Naxx FR requirement Bosses.

Or NR Resistance buff from another NPC , clear AQ40 NR requirement Bosses.

Let not waste bags slots for Resistance Gear, Mobs and Priests are here for you to Buff .

P.S = Theloras liked your post, the guy who literally beg over years for Proc Items to scale with Spell Damage all over the forums and pservers . Sound fishy your defense over “clever use of an mechanic” .

Back in the days BARELY someone knew this , it was only few who did and knew about this (perhaps 5-10 guilds all over the entire World of Warcraft).

First of all, FR was never a “requirement” it was just one way to make the bosses easier. You could power through them by using less FR and more basic stats.

And MCP is overrated. Cats don’t need that much haste having already 1.0 speed, and the buff is active only while you wield it.

Let me put my point straight :

Back in the days even Reckoning stack up infinite was clever use of Mechanic .

Until the day Blizzard realize how powerful it is.

Same with this , no matter how much clever use of Mechanic is , doesn’t always mean it’s good or meant to be like that.

If Blizzard intention was to let mobs buff you and bring your Fire Resistance Cap that easy , they wouldn’t even invent Fire Resistance equipment and Thorium Brotherhood reputation requirement at first!

Wrong again. Using reckoning like it ended up being used wasn’t considered an allowable mechanic and was patched out in a day.

As it is, in vanilla during actual progression it was very impractical to use that buff, because you’d be wiping over and over and it would make every attempt take 10x as long. Also, those who used it would be using it while ALSO wearing FR gear. There’s basicly no difference between spending time to get that buff, and spending time to farm nef/ony for world buffs before Naxx bosses.

This is not abuse, this is game mechanic, small trick. But, need to raise dungeons difficulty. Now ppl don’t use crowd controls in dungeons, they simple AoE, usually 2 packs at same time. In original Classic we used crowd controls, trap, sheep, sap etc.

Same was possible in Vanilla, but there is more mages now leveling with 3/3 permafrost, frostbite and improved blizzard.

Tank just need to round up mobs and slow/root fest can begin.

Turns out a lot of these items actually DO scale in Classic, so not sure what your point is?
