What’s wrong?
I’d personally like to see the retail auction house added to classic - everyone has an addon that does something similar to it already anyway, except it lags the crap out of the AH posting single stacks.

I can guess, they got duped by the 6 copper bid and 800 gold buyout.

Haha what happenend. You bought something too expensive because not looking or you sold something to cheap lol.
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Use an addon like most of the others do, and leave the rest of us to have the true Classic experience if we want to. #NoChanges.

There’s some sort of broken algorithm that causes it to perform exponentially worse with more items. It takes 15+ minutes to refresh for LBS on Gehennas.
Whats LBS here, I know it only as Lower Blackrock Spire, which is obviousy not making sense here.
Is there some kind of addon involved in this or is it the AH proper, that’s so slow with you looking for LBS?
Isn’t it designed to go slow if you do a full scan more than every 15 minutes? To stop people continually scanning the AH and making it go slow for everyone.

One of the wonders of living in a mega-server? Even with my stoneage PC, where framerates never exced 25 I can do this in next to no time anytime. Just tested once again. I even tried just “shard” and it still took literally a second. Items rendered above 1000, just tried again on bigger server, search time oh maybe 3 secs. “Shard” giving me almost 9000 units. What do I do wrong? Or need it be just after work?
Obviously the Auctionhouse on a server with thousands online might be slow when many people try to search simultaneously.
It is indeed a mega-server.
I cannot get into Firemaw to test (obviously 
). But I’ll try again Hordeside Gehennas tomorrow at 4 pm. That’s where I did my last try, and the server is not exactly empty now. I had to disable /4 and /2 to save what vision I have left. 
I can confirm that AH on Gehennas is normal and quick during morninghours / early afternoon. As soon as the horde of hordes (hehe) comes online, it crumbles and works overtime

I’ll try - out of curiosity. No intention of playing PvP server. He can stay there fpor test purposes. And I would not call 10 pm off hours exactly, but I’ll try again tomorrow at around 4.

Me and guildies mostly encounter a kneeling AH close to raidtimes. I assume the worst time for it is between 18:30-19:30, maybe longer, though I cannot confirm after this period.

Now I’m trying again. search time always less that 3 secs.
The AH is busy
1st try 18.20 shows 7285 shards I tried different types of shard, but forgot to note results.
2nd try 18.34 shows 7243 shards, still no noticeable lag. Other types of shards as fast. I even did one search without any subject for 159.957 items - no lag.
3rd try 18.44 7273 shards.
I see the mssage " Searching for items", then one dot, two dots, three dots and then the result.
And I see you online in Tempest Keep, then Blade’s Edge Mountains
I’m running Win 7 still that’s how old my PC is
EDIT:
I then had the suspicion that Silvermoon was maybe less populated - thus less laggy, so I took the globe to Undercity. Same results - maybe 10 minutes later (I always get lost in UC 
)
I see the OP didn’t come back and say what happened.
I did, but I spoke to Bulkern in-game, so I deleted my post, now I un-deleted it for everyone to see. And updated with a bit more info
