FIXED - Game broken

So instead of play button i have Update button on both retail and classic.
When i click update it starts Scan and Repair which takes ages and at the end it says “oops something went wrong” and back and repeat same thing.

So now i can’t play the game!???

Got this too after trying to scan and repair

Yea same. Did Scan and Repair while waiting for “no servers available.”

This has also happened for me, and it takes like 20 minutes for the scan every time.

Hi there!

So, there’s a few steps to try to resolve this for you, please do make sure to do them in order!

Firstly, please fully close the Blizzard App, and any Blizzard games, and then uninstall the App as per this guide:

Next, please delete all the Blizzard App files, some of which may be left over after uninstallation, by following this guide:

Finally, please download and install the App again via this link:

Once you’ve done that, please try running it again and sign in! You may find it does a number of updates, but that should hopefully fix things.

Yours,

Arythwinn

Nope the same thing.
It’s trying to repair the game, it says current game version doesn’t match. BUT IT FAILS and all over again, in circle.

Btw, i played yesterday perfectly just fine, so this Blizzard Scan & Repair corrupted my game files?? WTF

PS: Same for Hearthstone, no play button, it says UPDATE

I think the 1st time i did Scan & Repair today windows popup window showed up for battle net saying “Allow this app to modify files on your computer”. And then i think Battle.net reported it modified or changed some port or porting something, i think.

If that says anything.

I have the same problem. Tried the instructions in your links twice. No help. Still gives error and link to this article: https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/2667 Tried everything there, too, Advanced troubleshooting included, except reinstalling game. Gonna try that now…

I’m reinstalling Classic and will see if this fixes the issue.
IF it does then i guess i’ll have to do the same with BIG retail zzzzzzzz.

If reinstalling Classic doesn’t fix it then…WTF?

EDIT:
I get this error when trying to install Classic (after uninstalling) - https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/2667

?
Now i can’t install game, it goes through the same Scan and Repair process and fails at it…

I have the same problem and i tried the instructions and doesn’t help.

I fixed it.
Wyu try what they say here https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/blizzard/t/cod-warzone-scan-and-repair-loop-blzbntagt00000bb8-errors/11563/47

Only delete the files with 1kb size in data folder, then run scan & repair.

Thks Healarius, it works for me to!
i only deleted on file .93 with 1kb and is fix… three days without playing because of 1kb file…

“I tried most of the fixes in here besides a full re-install and couldn’t get anything to work when I encountered this issue tonight. After getting ready to delete my COD folder and start the download I decided to throw a hail mary. In the /Data/data folder there were 4 files named: data.261; data.262; data.263; data.264; with file sizes of 1 KB each. These looked suspicious to me as the small size looked like they may be partial downloads or logs of some sort. I deleted them and reloaded battlenet. Cod did a quick update check, downloaded ~180mb of data, and the problem with the scan and repair loop has resolved.”

I HIGHLY advise you to try this option FIRST, then proceed with alternatives suggested by Blizzard. This is the “least file deleting,” and “quickest,” method I know of and it worked like a charm for me as well as several others, gauging the comments on this thread.

Also, it should be noted that your “corrupt files,” may not be the exact same as his, mine weren’t. So, don’t go in looking for “data.264,” or whatever, just be searching for those ‘data,’ files with uselessly small file sizes.
