Fixing DH - the bare minimum

We all know DH is absolute garbage right now, the only thing that is still somewhat playable is M+, but then again with AOE cap its still mediocre.

PVE

  • Cycle of hatred talent should be learned when you equip the chaos theory legendary. It is clear that it would work wonders, because you need first blood talent so you can actually fit in enough blade dances to proc the legendary effect in the first place. There is absolutely no synergy like this! You need both talents to effectively use the legendary.

  • remove the target cap from blade dance, maybe similar formula as eye beam at LEAST.

  • Demon blades has a chance to reset Felblade: make it guaranteed proc

  • Demonic: 6 sec metamorphosis after using eye beam and 3 sec after using felblade/40% after using demon’s bite
    alternatively, simply increase the uptime to 8-10 seconds after using eye beam.

  • lower Metamorphosis cooldown to 1.5 minutes

PVP

  • overall I’d like to increase uptime of metamorphosis by a lot, it would help the survival department too (and it would somewhat justify the leech nerf)

  • mastery: reduces damage taken while stunned or snared by (double of current mastery %) realistically this would result in 35-40% less damage taken while stunned/cc-d

  • netherwalk as it is today makes no sense: 3 minutes cd is too long, you can’t attack during NW, so most of the time you just delay the inevitable by 5 seconds.

Of course the numbers need more maths, but I’d do it somewhere along these lines.

I still think adding demonic time on mastery proc’d by eyebeam and demonic blades baseline would be the answer… remove demonic from the talent tree, the new talent on the row of demon blades could be dmg increase on demon bite but with a cd and a little fury return. let’s say 30% mastery gives you 10 seconds demonic. more leech, more dmg overall and more healing. With this we should be ok. Maybe a little tweak on blur mitigation too. Would that be op? I don’t believe so

It won’t be op, hell - it won’t even be enough.

Havoc DH was decent in pvp when it had actual sustain and pvp fights lasted longer than 3 seconds.
