Flame caps

Then you don’t want to minmax.

Farming gold and consumables is part of minmaxing.
If you wanna zone in an instance kill the boss and log out play ffxiv.

Yes you are not wrong, btw there is no fun about that if it’s expensive.
On my serv flask are very cheap, this is very appreciable.

When they changed old dungeon farming with “Anti-Boost Mechanics” to stop people grinding gold, players should have known the economy is not safe. If something can be farmed/gathered and it makes a decent buck then they are going to nerf it in some way to “hit the bots” instead of actually hitting the bots themselves.

I very much doubt this is a nerf because people were too strong, it is highly likely in my eyes it’s just another supposed “bot hit” that affects the player base more so the bots.

I’m just waiting for them to nerf the ability to solo any tbc or wrath dungeon for gold for with some bullsh-- excuse about too much gold.

Always found it an oddity that it was on the Healthstone/Dark Rune cooldown. Naxx didn’t need that level of sweat, unless you were actively attempting a speedrun or a high parse.

As for the whole gold aspect. Meh, this overpriced nishe garbage herb wouldn’t have been worth it, unless you were pushing Hodir HM or smth, for like 99,9% of players. And if it really did become a common consume then the supply would lower prices to acceptable levels sooner or later.

After the armour potion change, why is anybody surprised?

Well deserved nerf.

is a mushroom, no?
Can you tell in simple word what happened?

This change is Blizzard saying “nah dudes… creativity is not allowed”. Its not like Flame Cap usage brought dps to unbalanced levels…

"First they came for the warriors, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a warrior.

Then they came for the death knights, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a death knight.

Then they came for the mages, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a mage.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

~Some rogue dude in a few weeks when Blizzard nerf felstrike

iirc there are like 3 places in ulduar where that’s even worth using, and 2 are trash packs.

I will repeat what I said before the mods suspended me.

Good idea that should have been made a year ago. Very stupid to do now a week before Ulduar comes out. Tons of people have made a stock to be able to use, and many more have been collecting since TBC started to sell.

My Mage friend had around 20k Flame Caps in the bank waiting to sell once Ulduar hits.

This horrible timing and the constant 1 week notification for new patches is Blizzard every time. Horrible company, they never learn and their greed always costs them. If the classic team had more than one part time college student working on it we might actually get stuff like this sorted on time.

They wont even let the legions of people buying gold and botting for years now use that gold to buy stuff.

The same reason they have for everything they’ve changed in Classic when they said NoChanges, because they just want to.

If any company was synonymous with this line, it’s Blizzard

There’s no mods here - no joke - so speak your mind.

I bet the timing for all these things aren’t down to coincidence, they know players have it stockpiled.

Auto suspension is still active.

My 1 day suspension from yday speaks otherwise xD (Or yes, auto suspensions for literally no reason), I dont care honestly. They are just butt-hurt when someone calls them out on their bs. In truth I dont blame the devs at all. I know the problem is as per usual with the upper management at Blizzard that see Classic as a cash cow and instantly leave it on support mode.

Anything is possible. Id question how much of a true stockpile most had. The spawn is horrible and farming Flame Caps is a nightmare. You can easily spend 1-2hrs and get 2-3 max. I know the people who did focus on getting as many as possible started very early into TBC and always would buy the whole AH (At <2g) and “the whole AH” would maybe be 10-20each day.

I think its more of what we are use to. They realize there is a big problem waaaay too late, and overshoot the solution. Even upping the spawn of Flame Caps would have been a better solution for the people who planned ahead.

I for one sold most of my stock for 50-60g each. I only had about 300 left. Which is no small amount of gold to lose as at the 50g price it comes to 15k minimum. But again I do feel for people who planned a lot more, and especially people who were buying in the last 1-2 months while trying to avoid the insane prices later on.

As some mentioned they lost 20-30k gold buying these in the last few months so they could raid.

I think its fair to throw that line back to investors. The armor potion got nerfed in the first PTR round. Not selling flame caps at 50gold+ praying they wont touch them is pure greed and stupidity.

Greed is human nature. Its only natural you always want more.

Should he have sold ? Well, looking back on it now ofc. But still did not look like it would be, since Flame Caps still work the same even on retail so many years later. Ofc no one uses them.

Again, good change that should have been done a long time ago, not a week before Ulduar.

It really puts a smile on my face when people who try to EXPLOIT the knowledge about future patches to get rich gets screwed.
however the correct way to fix that wouldve been a drastic increase in flame cap spawns making them cheap, so the greedy goblins gets a fat middle one, and those who find the fun in minmaxing still can benefit from them. (which imo is cool)

1 day? I am on a monthly rotation since Wrath released thanks to all the pro-rdf ppl cant accept different of oppinions so i get reported for trolling all the time in those discussions xD

Oh really? They’re back! Or they’ve re-evaluated their rules/priorities. Not sure if there are any auto-suspensions - though depends what you said I guess  but you’re the first I’ve heard or seen say about silence bans, as loads of stuff on these forums that would fall into the ban category.

Yeah, though with all the meta gamer bs I’d bet a substantial amount of players had quite a lot. Hearing about players who had filled up their account with bank alts to store all sorts.

It’s like a brand new game with them making changes to WOTLK, I’m sure it will annoy quite who did stockpile in some way, as if players needed to be more annoyed!

Suppose I haven’t said anything to get auto-banned, but I think that’s from being silence banned in the past. It was getting silence banned over over nearly nothing I recall, but I think that was just mods on a classic power trip - pun not intended.
