Flash heal. When useful

Hi,
it looks like that our flash heal seem to be our emergency cast… but I wonder when you really use it. I have found many times in pvp or in any bursty situations that my target will die if I try to resort to flash heal.

I am not even sure if the extra azerrite traits that improve flash heal make sense at all. Do you use it and when?

Alex

I can’t comment on the PvP side but in PvE, you Flash Heal when someone needs single target healing, your regular Heal is too slow (they would die while you were casting it) and your Serenity is on cooldown. It’s basically just the same as the fast emergency heals other healers have, just that it’s really weak because we are more AoE healers nowadays.

To be completely honest, pretty much all Holy priest specific traits are weaker than just pure stat increases, with the exception of Promise of Deliverance for M+, if memory serves me correctly.

I’d have the feeling that 80% of spells cast are flash heals outside of a raid environment.
Cause there’s a lack of other opinions.

Flash heals the quick heal you didn’t know you wanted before it was to late to save someone. However without a ton of mastery which we rarely can afford to use outside of a raid enviroment, you really may need the traits to up the healing.

Most holy spells are afterall built around that we have Echo of Light, which means our initial heals ain’t as potent as most other healers upfront due to balancing. But by gearing around the Deliverance and Permeating glow traits you can hit very high output on Flash heals even in a haste and crit kit.

I use flash heals simply when I have too, since sometimes you just can’t afford another second to use a heal. I can also use it with trail of light and guardian spirit to split heal two people, since the healing increase from guardian spirit boost the heals from trail of light. But then again i mostly play disc in smal group healing and shadow in PvP due to how dull it feels to be a healer in PvP these days.
