Flex raiding 😭

The 30 player limit must be increased. My guild has for this Saturday 51 applicants. The flex size is not big enough! Make it 40 man atleast

We had 60 so two teams went. In your case 25 and 26 still fair size raids. The limits are to reduce the latency yet we still get people complain of lag in small groups.

Sadly this won’t work for my guild as they run only one casual raid group

You could run 2.

There are two working solutions, neither requires any change in the scaling limit (which would not even help you with 51 applications).

1: You could just tell some people to stay at home and look for another raid group.
2: You split the groups to 25 and 26 and get double the loot for your group.

We run it similar to this. We take the 1st 30 then if someone doesn’t show up we take the 31 if he isn’t there then the 32nd and so on until the raid is full. but damn would have been nice to have 40 player raid.

so you leave a reserve of 21 people
 damn what a waste.
You can flex raid with as few as 10 people, seems like you should rethink how you organise your groups

yep I know :frowning_with_open_mouth:

Additional, scale this amount so any number can be healer! If there is two healers, make the two healers stronger so the group of 30 does not die. If twenty people wish to do healing, let them and allow the boss to have less heath. Any amount of tanks! Good job then.

This is in normal mode only! I do not care of heroic and mystic elitism mode.

Agree with Chonko. One thing to remember is bench 21 and you potentially looking @ 21 looking to move on and raid elsewhere.

The obvious and sensible solution here is to split to 2 raid groups.

The forum user solution is to ask Blizz to increase the limit to something still 11 below the number of applicants so that roughly 20% of signups are still benched.

You honestly can’t make this crap up.

@Ewavy I am not bothered by people leaving. The guild is old and those who do the casual raids are in the guild either from a long time or are not raiding Mythic with the main team anymore so neither will leave. We have many people who unsubscribe for an expansion or patch and come back later. It is a close community.

The problem with splitting the groups is that we don’t have enough healers. Plenty of damage dealers and tanks but not enough healers to cover 2 raid teams. So splitting to 2 raids is not an option. That is why I want an increase to the raid size.

Yes we will always have people sitting on the bench for the casual raid and that is not a problem. 11 people is fine 21 is not. So the “solution” of having 2 raid teams is not a working one for the guild.
We have our current problem mostly the 1st month of an expansion/patch when a lot more guild members sign up. After the 1st month the activity drops down considerably and only 4 or 6 people are being benched. But if the raid size is 40 then more people will get in.

Many people running old cpu and gpu -current game engine and latency cant handle 40man for many players.

so recruit 4 healers for your 2nd raid team
 Solved.

As an officer in the relevant guild in this topic (Hi Spìte  ) the solution isn’t as simple as ‘just recruit 4 healers’ (i’m actually the recruitment officer for the main raid team too).

The core issue is that that 2nd team would also need people willing to lead it and organise it and as mentioned the interest will die down again and we won’t have this problem.

I personally consider it a great sign that our social raids have such a large amount of interest :heartpulse:

I mean dont get me wrong its a great thing to have so many active and interested players and is a credit to your guild.
Maybe offer a regular player in your guild a couple of coaching sessions on how to lead a raid and develop them into the role.

Just have 1 officer lead each grp.
I’m sure you had miltiple in your run.
Bad guild leadership.

Our officers already run raids 3 nights a week and prefer taking the Saturday off as most have things called a real life too. Our social runs are purely run by socials that volunteered to run it with minimal officer support. Kind of harsh calling it bad guild leadership so fast. Let’s keep it on topic too before this derails

The raid OP talking about was on one of these 3 days, it wasn’t an extra raid day so no extra work, just better devided, better organization.
Your leadership being bad is just my opinion, not a fact of course.
Just like I think your retort makes no sense.
OP is not asking for an extra raid day, there is no extra time involved for anyone by dividing your raid better on days you already raid.
