Flying in BFA?

Because of personal reasons, I entirely skipped BFA. I wanted to collect the ores and do blacksmithing for some cool alliance-related transmogs, but then I see I can’t fly in a zone that was created 5 years ago. And from google search, it seems like I need to do a bunch of farms to be able to fly.

I don’t really get it. I think any time when a new expansion comes, the previous locations must automatically unlock flying.

It wouls be nice, yes
But porbably would never happen; the time you spend unlcoking it, the time you spend in the game, whitch looks good in the statistcs
:person_shrugging:
Th time you would spend flying around farming ores could be used to farm gold and just buy them from the AH

I have this niche hobby of doing old professions.

And many transmogs are not in my server auction houses, or just overpriced crazily, like 30k per piece.

Their excuse was that BfA is a default leveling expansion, so they didn’t want to change it…

Which is honestly beyond wierd. When a new player reaches lvl 30 or lvl 40 and buys flying, he or she would naturally want to fly for the first time during leveling… but no.

It was back for some years blizzard said 2 years old expansions would become legacy content. It is not the rule anymore with chromie time. There is no blue post on this, neither on that says that the old 2 years legacy content rule applies. You just have to do what the game offers you, and that is grinding all you need to fly . Fair or not? Only blizzard can set , change and comment on rules.

I know the feeling, I’m now on the path to hunt own all the cooking recipes in the game on my Dracthyr; he already have the Chef title
It a fun hobby
And I ment the ores, not the mogs

Interesting. They could just level lock it, like yeah, let’s say you reach 60, now you can’t level up there, but you can fly around cuz it’s already an old content for us if we are 60.

Isn’t any previous expansion becoming legacy? The way I imagine, November 28 was Dragonflight, November 27 was Shadowlands. November 27, Shadowlands was a current expansion and was relevant. November 28, it became legacy, it’s not needed anymore, it’s not competitive, it’s purely cosmetic now.

This is how I see things. And talking of BFA, it’s 5 years already. And it’s not about fairness or not. I just think they don’t want to work on old content, thinking that it’s too niche. But we are not talking about huge old-world changes or updates. It’s gonna take 5 minutes for the game dev who writes the game code to unlock flying in BFA, and then another extra 5 minutes for Shadowlands.

Oh, I see now. That’s a good idea, tbh.

Same.
My personal reason is that it was the worst expansion ever released in the history of the game.

I one million percent agree with this. Or at the very least, BFA should’ve been unlocked and the Shadowlands requirements basically reduced to a simple activity.

Blizzard dont read forum. There is alot of treads like this on us forum, which have more focus. If blizzard want to change this they have done it along time ago.

Instead of writing in here and waste your hopes, spend that time getting the achievement. Your tread is no thousand about this subject and yet another tread that will be ignored by blizzard. Yes they shouldnt, but use your time now on the achievements or do a farewell game tread. That is you only options.

They read forums, they have mentioned it before. They also said they sometimes “don’t want to read because of toxicity” but they read forums.

It’s not a waste of hopes, I don’t really understand your way of thinking. Thousands and thousands of complaints helped us to improve the game in very positive ways. Imagine we kept silent during Shadowlands or something (something tells me you actually enjoyed Shadowlands, Idk why I have this feeling).

It’s not true that posts with constructive criticism have no value. I don’t agree with this game.

And like my vulpera friend said, I can just spend a little time farming gold and buying ores instead of farming a 5 years old achievement that has 0 value for me.

Noone knows, but due to the latest 2 expansions blizzard changed that so called rule. They are not obligated to tell anyone, they git a horrible customer service as well. But like i said, if blizzard wanted to change they woukd have done it. Dont expect that now 500 software engineers or devs will do anything else than getting their coffee now and laugh at all the addicted wow players.

Well then keep it up and keep wroting, up to you

Again, idk where you have this all negativity coming from. So far I see them listening to the audience and improving as much as they can. I am a big blizzard criticizer by myself, but I don’t like exaggerations.

Good luck then  you should see treads on us forum as well.

I know things can go bad in forum. Many times I have contributed in toxicity and got banned a lot of times too. But it was during Shadowlands 9.0.0, so nobody can judge me hehe.

i played in bfa a lot and still cant fly. is that serious? i even unlocked this 2 boring maps.
but they have no clue anyway. the whole thing is like clown show. and! they promised that with df flying would be possible. lol maybe they promised it on 1st april?

I see no reason for that tbh. You’ve reached level 30, paid for it, make ot matter, let them fly. Not having to run each day from Turtle to Turtle for like a month doing the most ridiculous repetative WQs.

BfA zones do look amazing from the air though, Kul Tiras especially.

No I don’t think flying should be handed out for free. However I don’t see why they couldn’t increase the renown reward to make it go faster. I still believe people should do the content if they want the ability to fly, but the renown is probably the worst (and most unnecessary) part imho.

I also didn’t play any of BfA, so after the realisation that it’s going to be another expansion with no flying there I decided to just begin the journey of getting pathfinder myself. After all, if the people who played the expansion did it, then surely it cannot be too bad.

After questing through six zones and grinding as many reputations to revered through WQs, the minor exploration bits of part two seemed like it would be nothing in comparison. Then I go do it quickly. FINALLY it will be over… but the achievement doesn’t trigger… Hmmm, strange. So I go and double check and wouldn’t you believe it? In the fine print it also says you need two more reputations to revered, in two more zones.

Something dark stirred deep within my mind, something much darker and more vicious than the void.
