Flying mount speed

Hey !

First of all I’m sorry if that’s something that’s been asked before multiple times, but my head hurts a bit trying to figure all that stuff out.

I just dinged 70 this morning and of course went to buy my flying mount + the 225 riding skill. The thing is, I’m kinda confused with the mount speed, as the gryphon goes at 60% while on the ground it seems? And it doesn’t seem to go much faster whilst flying, as people with ground mounts outspeed me even when I’m flying. Isn’t it supposed to go at around 150% when flying and the same ground speed as my 100% mount? It would seem silly to have to switch between mounts all the time.

(Something to note is that I’m a paladin and didn’t buy other riding skills, but did the quests for those. Maybe that’s something to do with it? I’m very confused.)

Thanks ! Hope you’ve all been enjoying the Outland, I can’t get enough of it myself <3

(EDIT : It would seem I may be a bit tired and I think the mount just seems slow, but actually goes at 100% ! Apologies >.<)

It wasn’t until patch 3.2 that the speed of the flying mount was increased to 150%. 60% is working as intended

Alright, that makes sense. Seemed weird to me that people were outspeeding me with grounded mounts while I was flying, frustrating :frowning: Same for the grounded speed being 60% too! But I guess I can simply switch mounts when switching from flight to ground.
