Good day, fellow hunters.
About a week ago while I was doing my Call to Arms: Uldum quest I noticed something weird. A fellow hunter in my group were using Feathermanes (hippogryphs) and they were LITERALLY flying.
They flew up and down from the pillars located outside Halls of Origination, following their enemies as they jumped down from the pillars and then down from the main road to the dunes on the sides. This left me rather puzzled, as I had never seen hunter pets ignoring height differences before. Usually a pet has to take weird detours and try to catch up - but these hippogryphs just followed the enemies right over the edge.
I tried to find something on the internet, but could not find a single thread about it. So I dismissed the entire thing as a visual bug or maybe the classic Russian latency lag.
However, a few days ago I started using my spirit beast owl as I found my second Ban’thalos for Animal Companion… And now I noticed my pets doing the same thing in m+ from time to time. In yesterday’s Shrine of the Storm my birds flew over the water pools around the second boss as we were kiting the obelisk-dude instead of taking the regular detour around it… One of them got stuck in the middle of the pond, though, so I had to dismiss them to get him out of there.
So - my questions are: is this intended or is something broken? Has anybody else noticed/experienced this? I am curious since this would leave all flying pets, such as feathermanes and birds, with a huge advantage when it comes to catching up to opponents. Is that really fair?
